It has a LOD and Android but no SD card slot? Still might jump on one but no SD card slot is like day and night to me.
Its clean, open and now less digital than the Z, but I had little time with it, so maybe later will update you, but the Tube like sound of the TTVJ slim with the SONY Z is more neutral than warm with the W4, but I can tell you I am impressed (probably till I get my DX100) ...
I actually bought the exact same player in Japan, cost me quite some money though. Should have opted for a bigger memory size, 16GB seems hardly enough... Thinking about selling it away lol.
Thank you, nice to know it pairs well with the Z from your initial impression. look forward to a later update as I am looking at getting the TTVJ slim also once I sell my Ibasso PB1 & DB1.
Got to be 64gb on a dap like this, especially when they are anti expandable memory with a SD card slot. Why Sony bother still with 8 & 16gb I am not really sure
There are people out there who buy these wifi players just so they can use Pandora/Slacker/Spotify type apps. I know many people who bought 8GB Touches for that reason.
Thanks for enlightening me, I am one of those who still uses it in the traditional method of ripping my cd collection on to my Walkman.
I am old before my time and only still in my thirties!
What's wrong with that, for me that is the best way to ensure I am getting the best out of my collection. No stupid and dull mp3 or AAC, yes for me lossless makes (and always ) a difference .
That was my mission statement two years ago, now no longer. Lol.
I think your ears are dying.
Haha no. I am learning how to suppress the audiophile pride within me and be more objective.
my audio pride has cost me over £4700 in the last week.... ho-hum

It is always better to have any DAP that plays flac/lossless (combined with a good IEM/Headphone), than to have the best DAP with lossy tracks. Even when using my SONY PlayStation 1 (SCPH 1001) to listen to my CD collection (with my O2 amp and HE500) I enjoy listing more....... maybe placebo, don't know!
Most of us have walked down that path before..
