What I'm curious is which amps are best for this kind of music,  some amps seriously don't work... (ie, warm, musical ones)

M50.   Well more like a U shape but close enough.

What's a fun/v shaped headphone like?
 
The HD438 is pretty fun to listen to, but it doesn't really have a V shaped FR curve.
Warm bassy sound, highs not very detailed.

I would think the M50 was designed to emphasize bass drum and hi-hat sounds for multi-tracking, and it does that very well.  For mixing and mastering, not so much.
