V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews

Hey everyone! I got a pair of these from another Head-Fier some time ago to have a listen. Really quite enjoying them.

One thing I noticed though: on my pair (which is a used pair... not too sure how old) is that I'm getting some creaking noises on the left side when I move my head. It seems that where the headband fork attaches to the earcup itself (the swivelling mechanism) is just slightly loose, which produces a squeaking / creaking noise when the weight of the cable makes the earcup move. It's distracting because it means it creaks when I am moving around (or even just moving my head) listening to music.

I'm wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this problem and if there are any solutions or if V-Moda's warranty covers such a thing...

I never got squeaks with my V-80, but on my M-100 I had squeaks that I was able to fix by popping my earcup off the y-prongs and cleaning the dust out of the holes. The V/M-80 is a little more difficult to pop off the yoke compared to the M100, but it's possible. Be careful so you don't scratch your earcups.

not sure if anyone noticed but amazons out of vmoda m-80 white/grey

http://www.amazon.com/V-MODA-Crossfade-On-Ear-Noise-Isolating-Headphone/dp/B007TRUY6C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1379296927&sr=8-3&keywords=v+moda+m80

is vmoda discontinuing them?

is val updating them( hopefully with those clique fold hinges)

just noticed my noontecs starting to crack a bit at the earpiece areas, not substantial but i noe what i'm getting if it bites the dust... >=) ( hopefully it won't, my wallets already not happy since joining head-fi)

any clues anyone??? and on the vmoda website they're out of the whites as well,

i'm assumming the whites are the most popular? and they're trying to get rid of what they have left (which might explain why amazon a while back was selling both m-80s for like $141... if only it shipped to canada!!!

Edit: Tom22 didn't want my M80 but I'm going to return it to Radio Shack. Bought it for $88 including tax. PM me if you're interested. Less than an hour use.

Why did you not like them? I recently bought mine from Radio Shack as well (had them shipped to my store from another store). I find these to good to pass up for the price... even if my other gear is technically superior.

I'm quite liking these. I find they sound a bit better when you turn the cable around. Plug in the angled jack into the headphone. I'm probably going to order an audio only cable from vmoda. Either that or the coiled one.

The sound signature is really nice. Reminds me of my grandparents stereo system which is the sound I've been trying to get from my audio. Deep, but not boomy bass with natural life like mids and articulate but not fatiguing highs.

Thing is I find the isolation quite poor so I don't use them for portable use. Can anyone recommend a full size headphone that has the same sound sig. It can be open or closed doesnt matter to me. Definitely no more than $300 though haha.

These are great cans! I found them at RadioShack "on sale" for $39!!! I got these!

Wow! Unbelievable price! Was that sale just because it was open box or something? I thought $80 was a fantastic deal. $40 is unbelievable!

When it was up for sale at $79, even I thought it was a wonderful deal!
Now I got it for $39! Absolute steal!!!
It wasn't an open box item! I have insisted on the box seal! I have cut the ribbon myself and the cans were sealed with the paper.

I find that hard to believe as I just bought mine 3 days ago from the shack and paid $79. They were out of stock and ordered them from another store. Either your store marked them down jus recently or you got lucky at the register :p

Only one store on the whole island has m80s in stock right now. And there's quite a bit of radioshacks here. People must also know about the deal and are picking these up like crazy.
