V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews

  Momentum on-ear has a more detailed sound than the M80, but has a strong upper mids peak and poorer treble clarity than M80's.  Bass rocks harder than M80's.  DT1350 kills the other two.  If you can go for DT1350, I definitely recommend trying it first.  If you are unhappy with its fit and sound for whatever reason(s), then try the Momentum on-ear.

I find the MOE to have much better treble clarity than the M80. Try a tune with piano featured. The M80 fails. The MOE does wonderfully. I still highly recommend the M80 for pop. Amazon USA has the 1350 for under $200. That is worth checking out. I have settled on the MOE (I bought for $90) plus M80 (I bought for $80) plus Mikros 90-the best on-ear for classical/acoustic/jazz music, beware the clamp. (I bought it for $60). All the bases covered at a very high level. :)

I bought my M80 for a season [yes, in HK headphone (especially portable) can be used less than half year as weather is too hot outdoor] and the earpad has been broken when I re-open the storage bag recently;
More disappointed that V-moda official store does not ship them HK.

They reply me :

Unfortunately, you will need to have them shipped to a 3rd party to then ship to you as we cannot ship to HK. They are also available on Amazon US.
Rock On,

I tried Taobao, amazon, ebay and nowhere I could find official or replacement. (can't find that in Amazon US, please let me know if I am wrong)
Different cushion makes the sound different between ears.

Even I note that XS earpad also with same size but neither I can find as well.
It seems stupid to ship that a friend oversea and ship it over again (shipping maybe more expensive then the pad itself)
what can I do?

I have cushion problems. About a month ago the seams on the left cushion just burst open and I would like to replace it. I see replacement cushions are available but I cannot find good instructions on how to replace them. Being a simp I already removed it to see what the driver looked like. It looks nothing like the Youtube tutorials for the M100s because mine are white and lack the hinges that allow the M100 pads to snap on. I had to pull mine out of a tight crevice and I don't know how to put my torn cushion back in place as an example of putting them on. Well if V-Moda sells M80 cushions they can be swapped right?! I want to know if they can be pulled off and replaced or if I just broke them...

Are the drivers supposed to have a larger side in the front and recessed in the rear? I hope I didn't partially pull it out.

You tore the pad off the clip-on base it's supposed to be seated on. When you remove M-80 pads it should look like this:

There are 4 pegs that snap into the driver housing.

From your pictures I can see the clip is still lodged in your driver housing. Just pop it out and the new pads will snap right on.

Should I use a screwdriver? Are the screws for holding the clip in?
