Shahrose; can you give me an example song where you previously heard treble spike before the cable?

Thanks!

Tough to say and really setup-dependent. This is OT anyways so it's best if you PM me.

I just tried this mod. It does really help tame the highs, which i guess brings out the bass. With the mod, to my ears, the HD800s have more bass than my LCD2s. But the bass is not as well defined as before. While I do like the bass (i'm a closet bass-head), I feel like they've become a tad muddy. Still great bass though, so i don't know if I want to keep this mod lol

The HD800 doesn't have the ability to hit the bass fundamentals as cleanly as the LCD2/3. The mod, which brings out the HD800's bass, only highlights that.

It's certainly not a fix for everything but you get a better balance if you feel you want or need it.  For acoustic stuff the LCD2r.2 can render cleaner textures and low end detail more effortlessly but for more modern stuff and other genres they seem to lack punch and impact compared to the modded 800s.

I'm pretty busy right now wrapping up end-of-year work, but next week I should have some spare time to create some PDF templates for the mod.

You did a nice job with the pics, dims, and link to the foam.

I can make my way to a Michael's this week.

I have thought about doing the mod or getting Silver cables but since I am an older guy with my hearing at the higher frequencies around 10k or so being a few dBs down think the my hearing naturally does this for me.  So I have the effects of this mod/Silver cable already built in.

I am really enjoying what I am hearing from my HD800s.

BONUS:  Pelican 1300 case needed the Creatology foam on the sides to protect HD 800.

But, my mods are a bit unevenly placed (while to spec):

How much do you press on them?

Just listening now...put the screens back in after listening to Michael Jackson.
