I had finally decided to get a Norse cable because of the long wait with Toxic but after having paid and waited for over a  month I received a mail from Trevor telling me my order was cancelled and he won't be taking any more order

Any other cable makers without a ridiculously long led time?

I actually don't notice any real improvements to the bass associated with better seal. The most important part is how well the pads "couple" with the headphones, past that, the bass performance seems to be consistent. Maybe it's just a planar magnetic trait.

Those XLRs are hot.  I recommend the hard wire rout..

And I second that!
The Toxic coaxial connectors seem even longer than the stock Hifiman and most probably will lie on your shoulder for a not-so-comfortable experience...

The Hardwired Norse Audio are perfect for me in all account (don't know which one, Darryl does :D).

Nah, the Mad Dogs have nothing if the seal is not adequate.
The Hifiman still have a good bass presence when you put them away from your ears (to the point the pads don't touch your ears anymore). Maybe an open planar thing then? Do the Audeze work the same way?

Wow!  Trevor's taking a hiatus??

Very lucky for me I got my order in when I did then for my Skuld 2.  It arrived about 2 weeks ago and I've been extremely happy with it ever since.

Hope everything's alright with him and it's not a permanent end to Norse Audio.  Trevor's been great to deal with and his product is excellent.

Umm, can you point me to a rule that says this?

I got a advisory pm from one of our beloved administrators once saying u cant use prices to compare products after i posted that a certain brand is much cheaper then another with prices in cluded and all posts concerned got deleted...i am just being careful..dont want to break rules again..even if it was undeliberately the first time..but if u wanna know..pm me..

Ps..u could have pm'ed me already if u wanted to know..others did concerning my amp (with ts 5998 and ts mesh pates tubes) and hm602 which i am going to sell in a couple of months when my new amp arrives.. :D

Happilyi must have long neck then.. :D ..as i dont have any problem with the connectors..the dhc have even longer ones (at least on the cable i have).. But as far i see the original connectors are not much shorter then the aftermarketones..only the used cable needs more space to come out..so i dont think u can make it shorter without affecting the quality of connecting..hardwired is probably better..but..i dont know if my THICK cable even fits directly into the tiny holes of the headphone..regular 26/25 awg 4 wired cables will fit..but 8wires 22awg? Or 18awg? Am just wonderering..but i agree...hifiman has to change the connection into something audeze very smartly did..

I am waiting until hifiman comes up with angled connection just like audeze did..

Having just upgraded to these cans from the Sennheiser 650, plugged into a Fiio E9 > Titanium Hd, sound quality is just WOW! It sounds leagues better! Being a trance music fan the 650's were just so slow, these aren't in comparison, so glad i upgraded.

Well, this is awkward.

Erm, how about those HE-500s huh? I think they're good.

Onto pads! I have tried a handful of pads at this point:

Stock pleather
Stock velour
Mad Dog Pads
Mad Dog Alphas

At this point I'm sticking with Mod Dog pads. I felt the Alphas didn't provide much of a difference in terms of SQ. The Mad Dog pads managed to strike a really sweet balanced between the velour and pleather pads.

May i ask u this: Did u also try the jerg mod with pleathers? As i see u tried lots of other pads already.. So maybe ur the right guy to ask this..whats ur opinion on that mod?

And i agree with u....only debate about products u have personal experience with and about the he6 thread..now i have another reason (except for the amp i am getting in november)..its a more peaceful place to be.. :D next year i will for sure get one..or a new top model hifiman is working on..

About the price..(thanks for explanation by the way) It was around 280gbp..but u have to remember its a one off...he made the cable even better then what i originally asked for (for example..i asked for neutrik xlr..and he used the exclusive carbon xlr's as in pic).thats frank..trying to do his best...so i dont know how much exactly it will cost to others.. And as i said..u have to be a patient person... Is ur question answered now?

My perspective is just pick the one you feel most comfortable with for a long time, and tube roll the sonics to your preferences.

Or you can also dac-roll and amp-roll like me

Cable wise Silver Widow is 260 GBP-ish, I like the aesthetic, but the wait time is atrocious.
