Would my Havana DAC do? it's got a USB input

Hey guys, I have a request from one of you - unfortunately I'm having problems with the Buffalo2 build and cannot finish it for this meet so I will be needing a DAC with USB input or a DAC with S/PDIF input an a USB-S/PDIF converter.  If anybody has an extra DAC they could lend me for the duration of the meet, it would be greatly appreciated.  Otherwise, I'll just have to use the AlienDAC, but it really doesn't do justice to the rest of the setup.

Apparently I do not the WM8740, but am currently using AD8656+AD8532... I do have the LMH6643MA and the ADH4841 though, in case you guys wanna try switching it around.

RedLeader - I think you're greatly overestimating how much room there is at the meet for a full PC-based setup, but I'm sure we can figure something out.
patanin1st - D10's WM8740+AD8656 should be a pretty nice combo.  I can totally take responsibility of it for the duration of the meet.

Thanks for organizing the meet, FallenAngel.  I'll be in the area and can bring the DT880 PRO and CK10.  If anyone has a pair of the Monster Foam SuperTips (in white Small, black Small-Medium or metallic Medium), I may be interested in purchasing if they fit securely on the CK10 nozzle.  Also, I'm open to selling the Denon C710, which is in mint condition.  Ping me if you're interested and I'll bring them along with all the accessories and packaging.

charliex, would love to hear the ESW10JPN and Stax!

Happy to go, thanks FallenAngel :)

All I request is someone bring their gently used lower-end phones they'll part with. Looking to spend no more than 100. This would replace purchasing something new. They will end up staying with me for a while and I hope to engineer some really virgin sound with them. Decision will pretty much be bang-for-buck SQ, things are really tight now. Come on, be the one! Looking at classifieds, searching phones it makes NO sense to go out and buy something based on someones review. What one hates is the others golden phone... Surely there will be a couple people looking for some lesser phones for portable listening so please take all the pairs you don't mind giving away.

I can also bring about 350 albums of FLAC and 10-15 of 24/96 or 24/192. I would suggest one wireless hub is brought to let the music reach the best outputs; I guess nobody wants to shuffle stuff around excessively. Bringing multimeter, heatshrink, wine, whatever else makes sense.

Deltaspirit can't come, and his +1 is me (and vice-versa).

Cheers!

Last minute question to anyone with gears using the TTC as transport, how do you pack up your gears (amp, dac, headphones) to bring to the meet?  This is my first meet so i'm pretty inexperience in this

Have you got a piece of luggage laying around - great for packing and transporting gear.

Oooh!  I've just finished my Buffalo2 DAC just in time for the meet!  I still need a USB to S/PDIF converter, if anybody has one, I would really appreciate borrowing it!

Also, just finished a Nelson Pass FirstWatt F5, listening to the Buffalo2 with integrated volume control as DAC & PreAmp to the FirstWatt F5 driving my Harbeth speakers and I think I've just reached audio Nirvana!  Yes, blasphemy of speakers, but the DAC + Dynahi + HP2 is up next. :)

Anybody have a USB -> S/PDIF converter I can borrow for the meet?

Thanks

with a little green wiring I could probably get the spdif line off my gamma-1 and feed it to your buffalo2 DAC, would that be alright?
Edit:Actually, if you have a spdif receiver, you could take the signal off the coax or toslink.

Bryan, that's a great idea. I think that's what I'm going to do to bring my exstata over!
