I think I'll try to look for some places to demo the HD-590's tomorow. Since, from the research I've been doing on these threads, the 590's are supposed to have a wider soundstage, I think I'll be interested in those more. I think Best Buy may have them, but they'll be fed a crappy source, that's for sure. If I only knew some Hi-Fi stores where I can bring in my OSTs, I could get a good idea if they're for me or not. Any one know anywhere in Tallahassee, FL? So many people on the forum, might be a few of you here. ^^

ATH-900- 5
HD-590- 4
HD-280- 2
Ultrasone HIFI650- 2

Hmm...it seems people are pushing me towards the ATH-900s the most if I'm counting them right. With such close recomendations, makes my decesion harder. Open, closed. Suppose to sound good un-amped. Senns are more "laid bacK', while the A900s are supposed to be more "in your face". Man, this is getting harder then what I thought. ^^;;

Okay, I decided on the ATH-900s. I ordered them from AudioCube, but some questions. When I was checking out, it said my card number was invalid, wrong date, etc. I found out I entered in the wrong exp date. corrected. Then I went through again, and confirmed my order, and it said the order was already placed. I'm confused now. Checked my CC balance online, and it seems they've done a temp charge on it already. So, did my order go through?

I haven't gotten a e-mail confirmation from them yet.

I use the HD590 and the HD280 Pro, and they are both great. When my source is good and my surroundings are quiet, I prefer the 590 for its superior soundstage, subwoofer-ish bass, and detail. But when i need isolation, or when the source material is old, scratchy, or noisy, I whip out the 280 Pro. you can't go far wrong with either.

good choice on the ATH-A900. i placed my order yesterday and originally, i was leading toward the Senns HD-580, but i sold it to my dad because it was too "distant" for me and because it needs a powerful amp to drive. i decided on the A900 for its ability to be easily driven by any portable and that it's more portable than HD-580.

yeah i made the same mistake too except i typed the credit card number wrong. i got an error saying that the cc was invalid so i just typed it in again. no problemo. audiocubes did not charge twice on the cc.

Did you get a email confirmation or anything? Becuase, I haven't. And, when I log on to my account (@AudioCube), it still shows the ATH-900 in my basket. So, I'm just confused with the temp charge on my and it still being in my basket. There's nothing in my order history saying I've ordered anything. @_@ Maybe I should email them, and see what's going on.

The first one did not go through because the information was not
correct. Sorry for the inconvenience. The temp charge for the declined
transaction should go away in a few days. Would you please try placing
your order again. If successful, you should receive an email from
VeriSign and an email from us.

Speedy reply from them. I guess I'll order from them once the temp charge clears. I can't charge anymore till then. Next time, I'll make sure to triple check everything before submitting.

Hmm...while waiting for my CC to clear, I've been researching more on this forum. And I cam across a few threads saying that the A900's aren't that good for female voices. This concerns me, as I mention before, I'm big anime fan. Which majority of VA's are female. Is the A900 still a good choice, or should I look into some other options?

Man, this forum really is confusing. Just when you think you find a pair, you need to do some more research.

I listen to a decent amount of music with female voices and I have no issues with them at all, I find the midrange to be excellent on the A900's. In regards to the 590's vs the 900's...I havn't heard the 590's, but in doing a search on them vs the a900's I found many more favorable reviews on the A900's then I did on the 590's. If I'm not mistaken, Lindrone owns (or at least he did own) both, and stoped using his 590's in favor of the A900's.

edit: The female vocals in the song "From Autumn to Ashes - Autumns Monologue" sounds amazing on the A900's (this song has a very different sound then most FATA songs...if anyone hasn't heard it I highly recommend they check it out), as does Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Dido...I havn't heard any that I thought sounded off or weird, and I have compared their sound to my e1's
