New Marantz SA-8004

If you search most ultra high end sacd players, they are only 2 channels. The typical audiophile only wants a a two channel player because like Frank said, all of the money is put in sound reproduction. And like what's also been said on this thread, if you want multichannel or a do it all player, marantz has  those. That's not what this player is all about. I have two mulichannel sacd players. One is in my main home theater, and the other is in my bedroom home theater. I have a dedicated two channel only rig, and though my main home theater consists of a 9.2 setup(sounds excellent as well), my two channel rig is in another league. Putting a mutlitchannel sacd player in my two channel or headphone rig is just a waste and a compromise in sound.

And, since SACD is at its best delivering multi-channel why a stereo only player?

And where exactly did you pick up this pearl of audio wisdom?  Please enlighten us...

Yeah with that statement I no longer take anything he says seriously, and it appears he only trolling. Especially when's it's been mention a few times that marantz also carry those type of players. If you want mulitchannel look at those or at some other brand.

Yeah, that's right, I'm just trollin', dude, get a life. Stereo is O.K.;  but, why limit the emotion, that's to say, the ambiance. It's all good. Consider the possibilities.

Knock off the trolling or I'll clean things up.

I dumped multichannel some years back. It's not worth the expense of quality drivers, setup, or what it delivers.

I think dipoles do soundstage better than multichannel, as well. Simplicity has its benefits; I enjoy getting around on two wheels more than four.

I'm not so in to multi-channel. I don't want to feel like I'm on stage. I will to be in the front roll.

The Oppo95 has an awesome 2 channel circuit, as it appears  from specifications, as well as reviews. But, some folks create rules for themselves which limit them to seeing things from a lower plateau. Here, the OP will not consider something beyond the rules he has set, even though exploration into the whole arena might produce a more satisfying experience. His perception is that a two channel device will be better than alternatives which are more versatile. Perhaps, the perception is that the Marantz  will perform better than any unit which also plays multi-channel and supports most all codex out there for audio/video. Certainly, the OP's mindset does not allow him to bend the rules he has placed upon himself. His hobby is a "No Exit" experience. It does not matter what the OP does, but, this is a forum of ideas; and, when someone posts here shouldn't he expect to  hear from folks with ideas from neighborhoods other than those the OP has already visited. All this stuff is about entertainment, that's to say, it's a distraction from thoughts about our mortality. So, why not entertain it all here? BTW, listening to the multi-channel BD audio of Diana Krall's, Live From RIO, or Tom Petty's, Mojo  might be cause enough for anyone to reconsider multi-channel, as they sound simply awesome played from the source to HT.

what do you fail to understand.HE DONT WANT  A BLUE RAY PLAYER . PLAIN AND SIMPLE SEE THE THREAD TITLE. Glad you like your multi channel but for the OP its 2 channel and for me its my preference also. Had that  home theater stuff and I never used it for music.  Go peddle your Oppo  on antother thread
