Well it seems I have developed a rattle in the right side somehow. Something loose and rattling around that's quite distracting. I can take them apart and see what's wrong and fix it, but thought I would ask for permission from Head-Direct first.
Otherwise these are great sounding cans. Fantastic soundstaging. Clear tight bass.

Is fishski13 next to follow me on the east coast team?
does the HE6 still require a speaker amp for amplification.
Any official announcement on the pricing structure?
Problem solved. No fault of the headphones, but instead my computer. Listening some this afternoon, and with the right recording these are really awesome. Upped the gain on the Dynamite from 5 to 11 and that definitely helped out a lot. Not really sure if these need all that much power, just voltage gain.
All in all a real pleasure to listen to.
No, David...It does not. Just don't expect to to be driven by an Amphora or a Bithead,
Any ballsy home amp will do. I used a Raptor, Luxman P-1. Headroom Desktop, Xin Reference, Valhalla (not good enough), and a EF-5.
The difference in efficiency compared to the "proto" model is astronomical.
