Any chance of some slight customization? Fully black headband would be very much preferred.

Well it seems I have developed a rattle in the right side somehow. Something loose and rattling around that's quite distracting. I can take them apart and see what's wrong and fix it, but thought I would ask for permission from Head-Direct first.

Otherwise these are great sounding cans. Fantastic soundstaging. Clear tight bass.

Problem solved. No fault of the headphones, but instead my computer. Listening some this afternoon, and with the right recording these are really awesome. Upped the gain on the Dynamite from 5 to 11 and that definitely helped out a lot. Not really sure if these need all that much power, just voltage gain.
All in all a real pleasure to listen to.

Kw sent me a pm as the next on the loaner list, but I declined since I'm just going to order them Thursday. Thanks, though.

does the HE6 still require a speaker amp for amplification.

No, David...It does not. Just don't expect to to be driven by an Amphora or a Bithead,
Any ballsy home amp will do. I used a Raptor, Luxman P-1. Headroom Desktop, Xin Reference, Valhalla (not good enough), and a EF-5.
The difference in efficiency compared to the "proto" model is astronomical.

Scott(digger945) please check your PMs! By mistake I shipped you the production HE6 instead of Scott (Audio Addict). I shipped it via US Priority Mail so you should get it Friday. PLEASE ship it to Scott right aways because he needs to take it to the Chicago meet. Scotts address is in the PM, also please email me so I can pay you for the additional shipping cost, insurance, and delivery confirmation that you will incur to correct my mistake. BTW, my cost was $32.80.

Sorry for the mistake, hope you can help me in correcting it.

Wow the Xin Reference drove it decently?  And does that mean the Reference sounded better than the Valhalla?
