So I've been trawling this forum looking to see what I can spend 200 bucks on for a decent amp to power my audio technica ATH-ES7's

Thought my luck was in when I bought an RSA tomahawk from Todd the vinyl junkie for 200.

He's already sold it and had to refund me :frowning2:

So, back to the drawing board.

And I'm tempted by either the iBasso T3 or Meier XXS.

Both look pretty sweet to me. Unless anyone has any other suggestions ?

i can't really go more than 200

Check out the for sale forum. I have seen great condition Tomahawks go for about $180.

A refurbed Hawk from Ray? I would seriously doubt that you will find any of Ray's products from your nearest friendly retail outlet. But I could be wrong.

Go-Vibe Petite is just slightly smaller than a tomahawk, has a dac, uses 4 aaa batteries so it can run a gain of 9 on high and 2 on low (tomahawk has a gain of 1 and 4), runs like 90 hours i think, and i believe they go for $219.
Some people say it sounds better than a tomahawk, but i never compared.

Uncle Wilson from Jaben sells them.

I just sold Petite, which I were using with ES7, found the combo working pretty well together. And the DAC that you dont need, will be there anyway

, all include, within your USD 200 budget.

I would really suggest you hold a bit and get the ibasso p3+, it sells for $199 + shipping (generally $20 or so). Its one of the good bang for the buck amps around and the sound can be tweaked to your hearts content since it has a 3 ch/ 4 channel architecture and it comes with a decent number of OPAMPs and buffers to get you started.

I use one and I simply can't recommend it enough.

Ummm... don't mean to stick my nose in here... but... you should recheck the FS forum.

Sorry for the lost deal. I am sure other opportunities opens up though.
Just keep an eye with the FS forum, or even open a WTB thread.
