Cause Goose was telling us about his day cutting up dead people.

Z-Tab, are you running those unamped? IMO, they take even more juice than the HD-580s (because of the more open backs, probably -- leaking more sound)... unamped you're probably hearing like 10% or less of their potential, broken in or not. Unless you got an amp that's not in your profile...

Listening to my 600s too, but man are they juice-hungry cans. I'm turning the OBH-11 volume control up to 1:00 or even 2:00 with some music. May be time for a new amp soon...

I ordered my HD580's on Friday the 3rd, but I never received a tracking number for them, so I'm not sure they've even been shipped yet. I've heard only excellent things about Headroom's customer service so I'm sure that the reason I didn't get a tracking number is because I live in Canada, and maybe since it's an international order, they chose to ship it with a different company instead of Fed-Ex... anyways, it's not a big deal, but I should probably email someone at Headroom just to cure my curiousity.

LOL, I see from your signature that the Etys appear to have lived up to expectations. I told you you'd love 'em. Now if only mine would get back from the repair shop!

I thought putting that in my sig would be the best way to proclaim my enthusiasm with my Ety's

I also haven't really had time to write up any impressions but I will soon. Right now the fit is driving me bonkers, but the sound is amazing...

Time to get something like corda ha-1

I used to have obh-11se with obh-2 and a friend came to test his hd600. IMO, the obh-11se is severely lacking power to drive hd600.

I recognize that this was directed at fewtch, but yeah, I think it is.

I'm listening to mine through a vintage Sanyo receiver - already not that impressive - and while it has power enough, I am now noticing a low level hum that I never noticed before. Oh well, guess I'll have to work a little more.

I wouldn't say the OBH-11 is severely lacking (in my opinion at least) but it could be better... it's meant to drive 30 ohm to 300 ohm cans so this is at the top of its range, and the 600s do sound a bit underdriven with some music. With other music they sound fine. The OBH11SE might have weaker output than the regular OBH-11 of course, the design is different between the two amps.

I'm actually thinking about a used "home" Meta42 that drives HD600s well... Something like a Corda HA-1 would be nice but my wallet says no (unless some amazing deal comes along).
