Returned my 702 yesterday, loved the detail and the soundstage...but my recabled 240S just whispered in my ear so nice....begging me to come back to it's room for a message....yes i have a penchant for "loose" cans....

Why not do a poll and ask people what headphone sounds more natural, the 701 or the 650? Nevermind I will do it for you. My post wasnt really about boobs anyway but here is your poll.

I was actually talking about boobs, and both HD650 and K701/702 are not natural to me.

I was not really interested in which was more natural sounding, I was interested in their soundscape, ie. warm, neutral, rich, neutral... the type of sound it produces. So far I have gotten good feedback to my question.

I am really curious about the soundscape of the K702. I like a warmer, lush sound headphone like my D2000. Would the K702 be considered warm or more sterile like the DT880? I have never owned an AKG and have been curious about them for some time.

With the 701/2 it's about the amping, they are very picky..With the right source and gear, I found them to be my most musical headphone. DAC1/Bada12 will turn your brain senses into mush.

What amp were you using? They excel with tube amplification.

are you saying the recording engineers messed up natural then?

I find the 701/2 to be 'earthy' and organic sounding, even though they are airy..You mean neutral or natural? I wouldn't call them neutral, but come closer then most headphones. Some engineers have giving them low marks as studio cans, but we all hear differently. AKG, should have used all metal when constructing the 702, to make them really durable instead of just a paint job.. And tweak the drivers so they are more studio friendly..

I used my Creek OBH-11 in a 2 week comparison.

It is very important that headphones like these are placed correctly on one's head otherwise there might be sound leakage.
