Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!

Allright, I'm gonna pullthe trigger. Is DT150 non fatiguing like HD650?

Absolutely, its treble is even more natural. Also bass goes deeper and with better contour. If you find bass to much for your taste go with velour pads from DT100.

I have had HD650 for a year and now have DT150 for more than a year - HD650 was just more artificial and dull.

Great. I will order a pair of velour with them then. Can't wait to hear them!

i disslike t150 with velour pads, less punch , bass is woolish, and details  get lost , soundstage collapse ...

with velour sound is more open more wide but at the expanse of soundstage , tight bass and punch ...

Its also more comfortable with velour , so pick your poison ....

best thing is to order Shure 1540 pads if the stock pads are not good enough for you...

All headphones are fatiguing. Some are less fatiguing than others.

That said, fatigue is also highly subjective to individuals as well as dependent on what you're listening to.

I start feeling fatigue on my pair after 3-4 hours of continuous listening. That may be longer if I do take them off in between.

I doubt anyone here, or anywhere, would classify the DT150’s treble as "fatiguing." Some folks, however, might make the opposite claim and accuse the DT150 of sounding dark (indeed, darker than the HD650). And one lone fellow, somewhere in this thread, thought that his DT150 sounded congested and swampy. To me, however, the DT150 sounds wonderfully natural and full-bodied, “natural” being the operative word here. And yep, I can listen to these headphones for hours and hours without any listening fatigue whatsoever—and for someone who suffers from a mild case of tinnitus, that’s a huge compliment.

The DT150’s most outstanding attribute, however, has to be its soundstage; the DT150’s soundstage has better balance and proportionality than many top-tier headphones on today’s market, an astonishing accomplishment for a headphone that’s been in production since the 1970’s.

I know you’re coming from the T1, Youth, so brace yourself: these are radically different headphones.

sense ?? oh well ...
its simple , really ....

velour pads are thiner , your ears are closer to the driver = soundstage collapse
velour pads absorve a lot of reflections witch tricks you into thinking soundatge got more wide and sound is more open ,  in simple words its sound less " hallish"

what i said is all about distance from your ear to the driver and material that pads made of and reflections they provide and absorve

experienced listeners should know that ....

p.s  By sound i mean overall presentation  , by soundstage i mean placing of instruments , space between them... room feeling.

but they ? highlight some words i wrote from begining of the post and from the middle , then some from the end and put it all together ..maybe that will make more sense to you ...

It's reasuring that you say you can endure this headphone for hours when you have tinnitus. Yeah I know these are different compared to what I'm used to. I have severe tinnitus so that's the reason why I'm moving to darker headphones. I'm sure I can get used to the soundsignature over time. I have to. Bought DT150 for closed and HD650 for open untill I figure out what planar I'm gonna buy. Still doubting that the treble on the HE-560 gonna suit me but I will try them at some point. Otherwise I'm just gonna have to wait untill new ones are made.

Shure se 535 has the most smooth treble i ever heard!  If you are allergic to treble you should defiantly hear Shure flagships!   Silky smooth treble , liquid lush midrange and very rich tonality...  ear candy with roll off on the treble , could be something for you , Youth
