Fantastic album, definitely a good recommendation to whoever posted it a page or two back!

On Spotify Premium for now:

get the CD if you can, then play on speakers.

This has been getting some pretty scathing reviews in different places, but I haven't heard it yet myself to form an opinion of my own. What do you think of it?

I'm enjoying it. It's a little "pop-ie" in some parts, but still worth a listen. It doesn't sound overly compressed, with a decent dynamic range.

Having not heard any of his old stuff, I have nothing to compare it to.

Great album for the time although I can't remember when this was released, Kraftwerk influenced many of the synth-pop artists of the 80's and 90's.

I didn't even know Hahn did this! Thanks will check this out.

One of my favorite albums of all time and one of the absolute best sounding albums I've heard. And I'm not even really a fan of Hahn's apart from her Higdon and maybe Sibelius discs (and this one of course). Don't really care for her tone, I suppose. I am a fan of hers as a person, though. She has a wonderful personality. This album made me have a big revelation about how much I not only love music but sound as well. And I'm not talking about sound quality.

Perfectly fine. I saw Hahn at Carnegie Hall several years ago. Her virtuosity impressed me, but so did her down-to-earthiness. Many of these superstar violinists (e.g. Hahn, Mutter, Bell) play Strads or other vintage violins, so their sound is bound to be glorious and unearthly. The fact that they can champion more "modern" composers is an added strength.
