Yes I will compare it to my Cary.As for the R10s the more I listen to them the more
I realize how good they are, Yes I like them, and I am sure you do miss them But you where actually lucky enough to have owned them and heard them .One thing I have learned in the audio world
there is always another component that will give you just as much enjoyment or more.Thats what makes this hobby so Great ,But the Wallet does suffer.

Bozebuttons, this amp must be something else. You must be to busy listening to post your impressions. Or maybe you have a life outside of audio?

I know everybody is waiting for me to say something. So here goes.I am a little disappointed in the perfomance of the amp so far. It seems to be a little to polite. It has a really good midrange but seems to be lacking in bass and treble region.Dynamic swing and drive just seem to be lacking.I noticed the lack of bass first time I listened to it with my rs1s,and Thats one thing I never felt the rs1s lacked. I also used the hp1s and r10s. The r10s actually had the best bass out of all three headphones with this amp.I tried the k1000s through the headphone jack hardly
any volume, but not many amps can drive the k1000s out of there headphone jack.I have yet to try my hd600 cardas combo yet. Unfortunately I do not have the manual for the amp as there are internal adjustments that can be made to tailor the sound as per described in the stereoreview review.Maybe this can change the character of the amp. to fix these problems. I will have to ask Andy about this.My initial impressions about the amp have not changed no mater which headphone I used. I will listen more and update everyone later in the week.

I'm not going to lie....I'm sitting here elated that you don't like it. Reason? No one has heard this thing and frankly at $1600 US, it is an expensive piece to have sitting out there in limbo. The RS-1's are tied for my favourite can, and if the Zeus were to be the perfect pairing for them, I would most likely be drawn to buying it. Now that you have stated it just isn't up to snuff right off the bat, I have lost interest! After 3 years of doubt and wonder no less!

So what am I back to? Meier HA-2 for the bedroom and the Twinhead for the main rig. I can live without hearing Stax. I can't believe I am actually done!! Honestly.

At least until Sennheiser releases HD-700's, Grado releases a new reference phone etc...

Thanks bozebuttons! Not only for your impressions, but for going to the trouble of getting a demo unit for the crew here. Because that is really what is was for. The entire crew. Thanks.

Thanks for the update Bozebuttons. Unlike Zanth, I am disapointed they are not up to par. I was hoping that this amp would be a contender for a match with the R 10. Reason, the Zues cost 1,600.00. All other amps that I am looking at for the R 10 are quite a bit more. Oh well. Oh and Zanth, congrats if you really are done. I can't wait until I can get my system right, then I won't have to hang out here looking for ways to make my system better. You think that will ever happen?
