I especially like this song:
Jonatan.F.Pres.Bellezza - Just.You(Orginal.Mix)

Sounds stunning with the Zapfilter and all the mods I've done to my Zhaolu. And the K701s really let the Zhaolu do its thing. People who have not yet Zapfiltered their Zhaolu should first do that, and only THEN recommend bans for poor taste in sound. Otherwise it might be himself, who has poor sound taste. k thnx. bye!

I cannot judge the performance of the K701's on techno (since I have not listened to techno when I listened to the K701's). However, IMHO most DJ headphones (yep, including the Sonys that we all love to bash) are among the worst headphones for listening to techno, despite what a lot of people say. In fact, I have listened quite extensively to the V700's on techno, and found the sound to be totally boring and uninvolving. The problem is that the V700's upper-midrange response is very recessed to go along with the upper-bass bloat, making everything sound like a hammered you-know-what.

I'm not requesting a ban for "poor taste in sound." Everybody has their own subjective tastes in music and what sounds good, and I respect that. I have not heard the AKG K701s and thus cannot comment on their performance with the techno genre.

What I am requesting a ban for is your annoying troll-like attitude around here that's definitely getting on some people's nerves. Your K701 fanboyism is quite annoying; at least Art showed some intelligence and maturity in his praise of the K701s. You, on the other hand...not quite.

Rest assured, I plan to eventually mod my Zhaolu with a Zapfilter so I can see what all the commotion is about.

Having owned the SA5k, the HD650, and the K701 and being a major listener of
techno, I'll have to say the K701 is the weakest headphone of these three for this genre.

The K701 just doesn't have the snap of the SA5k or the kick of the HD650.

+1

I do not have the SA5K, but the HD650 is better and the PL2500/PL750 is even better - right now I am really enjoying synth heavy electronic with my Shure E500's... something about them is really getting me rocking.

I have one of Depeche Modes tour stops (Lokomotiv) and it was quite amazing actually (E500). Not "techno" but still the roots of electronic music.

For techno. I listened to Richie Hawtins DE9:Transitions and it was banging (E500).

I am listening to Digweeds' latest Transitions Vol.2 right now and it sounds like it needs to be played through my full size cans. Needs more spaciousness.
