i'm using a bolder digital modded sb3 + the ultimate mkII power supply to a dac, and i couldn't believe the difference that the mods and power supply made. its the most improvement any component has given me. i'm curious to see how the transporter compares to my modded sb3 as as transport.....but i wouldn't be surprised if my modded sb3 digital out is better

How much were the mods to the SB3? Whats the rest of the equipment you were using? And this via toslink or RCA (digital)?

I think most people are buying this to use it as a DAC to begin with, though. If you wanted JUST a transport, they already offer several much cheaper models for that purpose. Honestly, if you can afford a $2,000 piece of gear that's just a transport, why even use a computer as source?

If slavery is legalized Im going to the market looking for the fastest guy that can
find and change CDs for me. But i certainly do agree with u that they shld have just added a word clock in and better power supplies.

However, if someone can afford $200000 for a transport, then i will ask him why not just get the ochestra to perform privately for him.

Because there's no better alternative for any amount of money.

The jung superregulator on the transporter is no slouch of a power supply either.

Alex from Odyssey Audio Singapore is the distributor for Slimdevices.

I bought 3 x SB3 altogether from him so far and is contemplating to get a transporter soon.
