Which dap's have folder browsing?
In my quest for a dap I noticed that not every player supports browsing by filetree / folder. My music collection is organized in folders (first artist, then albums). The id3 tags in my mp3's are not very consistent as I have never cared for that. So folder browsing is an absolute must for my...- wab

Sennheiser MX750
It's been a long time since I posted anything on Head-fi. Anyway, for my daily walk to work I am looking for some new earbuds. I came across the Sennheiser MX750. They look pretty good and are marketed as top-of-the-line professional earbuds. To my surprise these have not been discussed before...- wab

The Frames anyone?
The Frames are from Ireland. References seem to be Ryan Adams and the Clash but with a distinct Irish character. I've always loved their albums "Fitzcaraldo" and "For the Birds". Their new live album "Set List" is amazing. I'm hoping to see their concert next week. recommended! -
Depressing break-up music?
My girlfriend dumped me the night before my birthday (jan 3rd). These last few nights (luckily University keeps me busy during the day) I have been listening to Smog, The Smiths, Songs:Ohia and Shostakovich (symphonies). What music would you suggest for times like this? -
Best dealer experience ever!
I saw an add from a local dealer who had some Beyerdynamic phones on sale. I called him up and made an appointment for last monday 8pm. When I got there the guy had set up a comfy chair for me alongside a rack with a Unison Research CDP and a Myriad pre-amp (which appeared to have a very sweet...- wab

Sigur Ros working on new album
Sigur Ros are already in the studio working on their new album. This one is supposed to be "more accessible". Some live clips from the new songs "Gong," "Mílanó," and "Salka" are available on their website http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/ Sure sounds promising! -
Am I really the only one who likes My Morning Jacket?
Sure the singer is a little off key sometimes and the musicians may not be the best there out there, but the songs are so incredibly moody and evocative.. Eversince I discovered this band I've had At Dawn and Tennessee Fire on repeat. My friends and housemates hate it, I haven't found anyone who... -

Bach: where to start?
I'm trying to get into Bach. Problem is, I don't know where to start. I was in the library this moring and they had about 200 Bach CD's! Maybe you Bach connaisseurs could get me started? I like small string ensembles and piano music but I'm also open to larger orchestral works. Thanks! -

Recommend me ECM records!
I have some albums from Keith Jarrett (Trio and solo), Terje Rypdal, Markus Stockhausen, Steve Reich, early Pat Metheny that I all like very much. I also think everything on the Rune Grammofon label that is distributed by ECM is great. Unfortunately I can't buy every ECM cd out there. Who or... -

Good games that would run on my computer?
Okay you hardcore gamers.. I'm bored and know almost nothing about games. Anyone know a good one that would work on my computer? New Sigur Ros.. Amazing
I recently got hold of a sampler from the new Sigur Ros album ( )that will be released in a few weeks. It's incredible, the most beautiful music I've heard in a long time. I already know it will rule my life again, just like Agaetis Byrjun did. Anyone else listened to it? -
Cheap, elegant, sturdy rack: Ikea Corras
I just got this little Ikea rack. It's was originally meant as a bedroom table but quite a lot of people seem to be using it as a small audio rack. It fits normal 43cm components perfectly! I think it's available in 6 finishes and costs only €32! (the white one is even cheaper at €25). If you...- wab

My nextdoor neighbour got a giant new subwoofer for his car today. He has been busy installing it in his trunk all afternoon and most of the evening. It's 11pm right now, I'm in my apartment playing a bit with my computer. Outside, right under my window, my neighbour is in his car (it's an...- wab

Got a Sony D-250 (= D-25) discman!
After all this talk about the D-25 I couldn't resist when I saw a perfect condition D-250 for $20. Apparently the D-25 is called D-250 outside the US. The looks are amazing! Easily the best looking PCDP I know, maybe the Z555 looks nice too but I've never seen one in real life. The all metal...- wab

Great rythm sections in jazz?
Jazz-connaisseurs, I'm looking for a few recommendations of specific CD's with great rythm sections. I don't really care from what period or "style" it is, as long as it swings or intrigues or grooves etc. etc. -
A good book about jazz?
I'm really getting into jazz lately, but sometimes I feel a bit lost. I get the feeling I'm missing a lot of what's going on. I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good book about jazz. I already checked that "Jazz for Dummies" thing but it wasn't much more than some biographies, not...
