Does my old lcd1 and lcd2 count as vintage yet?

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I have used the LCD-2 for over 10 years now, sometimes for hours each day, and it just amazes me each time, still.

Foam tends to degrade .... not the most comfortable headband version anyway, I recall that my hair got stuck in it (I got the leather upgrade some years ago). However - note that your serial number is on the headband, you might want to keep that around. It should sound amazing though, if it...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Since 2010, and starting a new year with the LCD2 as the go-to headphone :) And yes, it is that good. ( the earlier lcd1 was fine also, especially with the fine headstage, but a bit light on the bass )

I prefer micro suction tape. But thats not permanent.

This is where you add the micro suction tape, to make your pads swappable :=)

I wouldn't recomend increasing the treble (because I like my bass, if you increase one, you loose the other, assuming that with the LCD it is there in the baseline (with mine it is for sure, and it should be with yours also)). But sure, I want to hear it. So, I recommend a good dac with...

Well. The problem is that you do not want these replaced :)

These drivers did not fail for over ten years, and I use them a lot, so I am not too worried about that :)

And the graph of the LCD-2 that I am using right now :) ( although I see now that I posted it already earlier in the thread )

Slightly off topic, the older LCD-1.

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I am sorry to intervene here in this rant, but there ere is nothing wrong with the LCD-2. I see no blemishes. Ear pads are fine. Sound is out of this world, as always. This is not a new pair of LCD-2, not at all. These are over 10 years old. And I use them almost every day (because they sound...

As I have said a few times here, the "dust cover" is quite a bit more than that on the early LCD2s, being a bit dense. But perhaps you lcd is more recent. Although, I have to admit, my LCD2s do not have much of trouble. The stock pads are extremely durable, comfy, and give that amazing bass that...

Schiit Eitr impression and USB-SPDIF converters discussion

Looking at the Eitr, it does NOT have toslink, explicitly because it is not very good. Also, I can confirm that the Eitr sounds a quite lot better (not very subtle at all) than my previous USB-Digital out connection. (This could also be because the Eitr is simply a better device, regardless of...

    Audeze Mobius review / impressions

Attaching an NX head tracker gives that to any headphone. (Got one on my LCD_2). Does not look stylish though. Not at all.

These newer ones seem to be tuned somewhat differently, looking at the graph. But I wouldn't change the older pair that I have at all. The strong deep bass is needed in so many songs that I like, to give some warmth to balance out a colder upper part. I am not saying that the Audeze drivers...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

They might sound a bit different, depending on exactly how old they are (I both have new and stock pads and they do not sound the same). Note that the 2010 editions are tuned for the pads that they were equiped with... but you might prefer the new-pad sound, so you might want to try it out also...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

I am experimenting a bit with micro suction tape on the ear pads for an easy pad swap. (Not yet fastened finally, the tape-side of the micro suction material does not stick so well to the fabric of the ear pads, so for good looks they still need to be slightly adjusted). The stock pads do give a...

    Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Well, perhaps I am old and grumpy. But I think the old LCD2 sounds just amazing still. Go upgrade the source if it is SLIGHTLY off. 1 There is the USB-digital (e.g. shiit eitr) . 2 digtal-analogue (e.g cheap vintage item). 3 Amplification (whatever you prefer, solid state or tubes). (THEN If it...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The Transport? Sounds good. Is this where you will present the Eitr II? The Eitr is such an amazing gizmo (what will I do if / when it self-destructs?)

Too light Too Light and too Bright sounds like MF. (I use their x-can and I love how it balances the LCD2). Too light/bright does not sound like the LCD2, at all. The early LCD2s had extra bassy ear pads also (made it tad too bassy vs air though IMHO).

I find the leather headband to be rather comfy. Hair got stuck in the original foam headband, but that one was fine as well otherwise.
