Does my old lcd1 and lcd2 count as vintage yet?

I prefer micro suction tape. But thats not permanent.

These drivers did not fail for over ten years, and I use them a lot, so I am not too worried about that :)

These newer ones seem to be tuned somewhat differently, looking at the graph. But I wouldn't change the older pair that I have at all. The strong deep bass is needed in so many songs that I like, to give some warmth to balance out a colder upper part. I am not saying that the Audeze drivers...

They might sound a bit different, depending on exactly how old they are (I both have new and stock pads and they do not sound the same). Note that the 2010 editions are tuned for the pads that they were equiped with... but you might prefer the new-pad sound, so you might want to try it out also...

Too light Too Light and too Bright sounds like MF. (I use their x-can and I love how it balances the LCD2). Too light/bright does not sound like the LCD2, at all. The early LCD2s had extra bassy ear pads also (made it tad too bassy vs air though IMHO).

I find the leather headband to be rather comfy. Hair got stuck in the original foam headband, but that one was fine as well otherwise.

10 years ago, he told me that he had thrown all of his own PMBs away after the ear pads had disintegrated :-(
