Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

Don't know if anyone else will feel the same, I've found I needed to add an external amp to the x5 to get bass response where I wanted it. I usually swap between zero low end gain and level 1 (fiio e11) with most headphones. The titans really don't have the low end I was looking for without...

Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

Detail was surprising. With some songs it cleared up the base/midst a lot and I've found a few where I didn't like it. Those songs, imo, we're mastered wrong or had the wrong thing done with the music.

Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

They're here... giggity. Whomever it was that recommended these (wanted something spacial) was spot on. They're spacey alright. Bit bright right now, but this is the first 20 minutes listening. Bass I don't see as an issue. There is a slight v, but I would say that is contributing some to the...

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

Love the math! Makes sense, though I still can't point it out myself, cool to see what actually is going on.

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

Can a digital format even produce that? Crazy small measurement that is.

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

Kinda what I thought. I will fully admit I can't really tell you the difference between flac 16/44 and anything better, I always chalk it up to better mastering.

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

Quantization and jitter.. makes a lot more sense now (followed that link, explained jitter perfectly)   Now trying to understand the jitter. I would think at 44k, that would allow up to 22k jitter, 0.0022s (been a long time since I've done math). Supposedly we can hear 200ps of jitter? I can't...

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!

Really sorry if this has been covered, but I have two questions.    If I understand correctly, the bit size (16/24) is relative to the db range the music has. Would it not be possible that 24bit can fit into the same db range but perhaps with more accuracy? Certainly, we don't want music...

    Tinnitus

Have some myself (blasted motorcycles) but never notice it's there unless I think about it. It is high pitched/white noise like. Sort of on the loud side actually, I'm surprised it doesn't bother me.

    AUDEZE LCD XC

Hoping someone may have an answer for me.   Borrowing a set of LCD-XCs and the previous owner had noted that they don't seal well. Upon looking closer, one of the brackets was loose (shown in picture above my post) I tightened it down a bit, fixed the ill-fitting issue. Of course I don't want...

Curious, would there perhaps be an effect from dehydration?

Overly loud concerts ruining the experience?

Well, there goes that idea, unless I take a trip across the pond at some point.

Overly loud concerts ruining the experience?

Where about do you do the sound for these shows? If you were able to point me to one you were doing that would be within that 105db range, I would attend.

Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

Just ordered mine. I really wanted to wait to decide on something, but couldn't help with the reviews the Titans are getting. Good news is, I'll have them in time for my trip to florida! Going to spend some time laying out in the sun with these.

Overly loud concerts ruining the experience?

Guess I'm not alone in this. Considering all the times I've heard that some listeners goals were to get the headphones they were using to sound just like the music did live, I always have to wonder what they really mean by that. Classical would be the only country term to this I would think. Sit...

What Are You Listening To Right Now?

Michael Franti - All I Want Is You Wife's stuff, really. Turns out, I love the production work done on his albums.

Overly loud concerts ruining the experience?

Something I have thought many a time and openly discussed with a few musicians.   I love a live performance, love the immersion, love the feeling. Even that being so, I don't ever go to live performances. The reason being, they all play far too loud for me to enjoy the music. I've gone to a...

Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

Live in Ulster, work in Orange. B&H may be a very worthwhile trip for the future. I can't say that it would be worth the trip ($40 by train round trip, then add subway) just to look at a set of $115 phones. Someone really needs to open a shop further north. Even Westchester would be a worth...

Dunu TITAN Series (new for 2019: Titan 6) [Page 196]

Anyone know somewhere in the Hudson valley (new york) I might be able to find a set of titans to try out? So many options out there, I don't know what to choose.

Expected soundstage with cheaper (sub $300) IEMs?

Always possible. I always like a big soundstage, hardest thing for a headphone to do right, imo. Might have to take a loon at the titans soon.

Expected soundstage with cheaper (sub $300) IEMs?

I recently got a chance to demo a set of Shure SE846 IEMs. I have never considered spending any money on IEMs before until I heard these. I demo'd right after some HD800s. I was completely blown away with how open the sound stage was! The music played outside my reach, nowhere near like it was...

    Millett "Starving Student" hybrid amp

Years later, it's time I get to building my amps. I'm going to gift one to a bud that is lending me some great equipment. I'll be running a pair of 19j6 tubes that I've been hording for the last 5 or so years ;-). Just need to find someone with a table saw and perhaps a router for me to cut up...
