Sensory input in PLCs which is a computer used in industrial manufacturing automation is designed specifically with inputs and outputs and the inputs are often sensors. This is not the same as seeing/hearing, those sensors provide input to a program and the results are a 100% repeatable action...

That is not AI generated art, that is AI assisted art, personally I do not think this new buzz around AI is all that different than what we had before. The software still has no sensory input, does not discover itself through the work. We can get all excited about a computer as a tool and sell...

If a person is not involved and it is not a process that involves both the act of production but also the act of experiencing and making changes then it is not an art form created by an artist. The day AI can see/hear what it does and know something about why it is doing it, then we will have...

There is a difference between listening and creating, seeing and creating. Making something is a process, the joy or pain happens for the artist in a very private way, filled with anticipation for what the result will be, requiring trust in yourself. Listening or seeing something will likely...

It is quite noticeable, the other day I searched for a new wallet as mine had gotten so worn. I did buy one, one is all I need, AdSense does not know that, for the past week or so I have been seeing wallets in the top banner ad.

Yes I think so, custom would fix it. Though I am not going custom at this stage of my journey I have shifted to mostly speaker listening. Universal XE6 still isolates not as well as my other IEMs, the leakage is a minor issue for me.

I love the XE6 truly, the only niggles are 1 the weight, which requires me to use those sticky silicon tips, not ideal though they sound good. The second issue is isolation, not the best choice for a noisy waiting room for example. I still have my XE6 it will stay, for 12 months it was my...

Stock cable is great I prefered it over Orpheus (shielded). Tried that combo at CJNY 2023 where MT had two birds for demo one with each cable, AB was easy. I was surprised by that perhaps my taste are tunafish instead of caviar.

We learn from each other, that is part of the fun. As long as you do not shut the door on subjects that we have debated for years now on this forum, and others, though I do believe we have reached a bit of a consensus on burn-in here. This is not the battle ground anyone should wish to die on...

A mirror for you then my friend. I was curious what others would get from it, anything is valid. I held back on any words to explain. Very simple composition. What I was thinking about is the isolation of the mind, while the thoughts reflect the external world, becoming brighter in the head...

Volume level always creeps up for me, start out at moderate levels sounds great, suddenly an awesome track, turn it up a little, and so on, eventually I notice it is very loud and back it down. Put a couple guys in a room with speakers and that gets magnified directly proportionately to the...

These are mine so put “For me” in front of each of these please. Design matters. Stock cable has to be a good match and sound good, plus design matters. Love unicorns and dislike the same sound signature I have heard before. Charts are kind of irrelevant for me as design matters and unicorns...

Partly to celebrate the anniversary of the Cooler and it has been a while since I posted any work here. This year has been productive thus far. Here are six things I made that continue the exploration of resin, as an ingredient in mixed media pieces. In order of creation, all 2024.

Whether it is nurture or genetic aside, two examples. Monk and Gismonti Monk uses discord partly as a rythmic accent or punctuation to me where Gismonti uses discord to build tension which is released into a beautiful melody. I am sure there are more examples though both of these composers are...

RAZ's TOTL review and rambles thread, on life support

Big sub was my last buy. That was in December 2023. Though IEM DAP wise last one was F5 in February 2023. Nothing has sounded different to me to what I already have so I have held back. I did demo lots of sets. Maybe better in some way though not different, and I want to get un-bored. That takes...

Make my own Chipotle powder once every year, lasts all year sometimes two. Fresh Jalapeños cut in half (keep seeds in remove stems) Smoked for 4-5 hours (do these steps in a garage otherwise everyone’s eyes will be watering). Finish dehydrating in a dehydrator Grind in a spice mill Jar Then...

Help me build a new music library

Must have Jazz to me, that would be a long list for example; Milt Jackson Sunflower Miles Davis In A Silent Way If you know these then I can focus on newer Jazz, as you likely have the foundational stuff already. Note I do not listen to much pop of any kind so cannot help there. I do like Prog...
