I have a distortion problem with my right cup on high volumes. I thought this just was an overload thing, but now I start wondering when reading the above posts. I have the same problem with Mojo as with Jotuheim driving the Elears.

I think the misconception here is that USB delivers packets of data. To say that zeroes and ones are delivered over a cable (not talking about Toslink lightpulses) and not analog voltage representing those bits puts a smile on my face.

When reading some of these posts I understand that basic understanding of electronics is not something they teach in computer science lessons. What goes down a cable is not a bunch of Ones and Zeroes but a varying voltage (e.g. 5V TTL square pulse) that is NOT insensitive to variations in cable...

I hope that Jotunheim customers have studied the geometry particulars for the Elears prior to ordering any balanced cables that doesn't say 'Elear compatible'.

Are you running it balanced?

Just to say that sometimes my Elear breaks up when driven by the Mojo on moderate to loud levels. The source volume is set at 100%.

From RMAF I read that Kimber makes an Axios version for the Elear. Probably very expensive when terminated with a 4pin XLR. I have not seen it in shops yet (preorder).  

Too bad Nordost doesn't make a balanced version, though. How did the BH fit the insert in the cans?

The reason for the DAC comment of mine was that Schiit apparently have reported a component shortage for their DAC module, delaying shipments. Which balanced cable did you land on?

Thx. I would guess one small piece of vulcanization tape on the body of the mini jack might do wonders for additional strain relief.

I can appreciate your efforts on this one. For me a DIY solution is out of the question, even though I am able to overcome the challenges of making one. I don't want to put winter tyres on my Ferrari, however I realize that a customized aftermarket one will be costly.
