ZMF x Vibro & ZMF Blackwood Discussion Thread.
Which ZMF would be the most suitable for electronic music? Especially electronic music that's more melodic and less driven by bass, such as psybient, uplifting trance etc. Thanks all :)- EllipticCurve

Best cans for electronica/chill/ambient etc. for $250-$500
Overall I really like my SRH840 and that sort of sound signature. Mids are amazing, treble isn't too sibilant, bass is okay I guess although there isn't much sub bass and sometimes it's a bit slow? Also, soundstage isn't great, hence why I want to go with an open pair. Overall I'd prefer...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for electronica/chill/ambient etc. for $250-$500
Slightly worried that HE400i might prove not 'airy' enough or a bit too dark for genres such as uplifting trance or psybient etc.- EllipticCurve

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
Hi All, I'm considering pulling the trigger on buying HE400i, however I have some last minute concerns. I listen to a wide range of music, but I slightly lean towards electronic music, especially psybient, uplifting vocal trance etc. More melodic electronic stuff overall. I'm concerned that...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for electronica/chill/ambient etc. for $250-$500
Thanks, been looking at planars for a while. Would the O2 amp suffice to drive them? Or what'd be an ideal amp for them?- EllipticCurve

Best cans for electronica/chill/ambient etc. for $250-$500
Hello everyone, Pretty much what the title says. I'd like an open pair though which is also pretty comfortable for long listening sessions. Currently I have Shure SRH840 also ODAC/O2. Thanks~- EllipticCurve

Mad Dog with Alpha Pads for Vocal Trance + what amp?
Ok guys, I had a previous thread where I was considering a number of headphones and now I think I would like to go with Mad Dog with Alpha Pads. I would just like some final opinions before I order them.. So, do you think Mad Dog with Alpha Pads are good choice for vocal trance? What...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
Sort of out of my budget. Unfortunately. Here in the UK they are around £500. While the SRH1540 is £400. Could also get HE500 for used for about £450. I originally intended to spend tops £400, but if the beyers are better than I am willing to pay a little more. Also, while my original...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
I am actually considering the T90s now. During the weekend I will have the chance to audition SRH1540, T90 and HD600/650, but unfortunately not the HE500. Also Alpha Dog is not an option as it would be quite difficult to take hold of them here in the UK for a reasonable price. So now it...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
Unfortunately can't get them in the UK. But now I am really considering Alpha Dog, I would just need to stretch my budget a little. Also I am strangely drawn towards the Hifiman ones.. They seem to be very suited for electronic music. I would definitely try HE500 if I had the budget for...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
AlphaDogs and MadDogs are certainly an option. However, AlphaDogs is a little too expensive for my (at least here in the uk) budget. MadDogs..well, I know if I got them, I would inevitably keep thinking about upgrading to AlphaDogs. I don't plan buying another pair of (expensive) headphones...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
So, some of you say that the HE300 is 'muffled' while others say it has very good 'detail and clarity'. And it probably comes down to which revision of HE300 I would get, if I understood it correctly? I am now also considering HD650.. And also thinking about other beyers. I am going to...- EllipticCurve

Shure SRH1540 Review
I am looking to buy a new set of cans to replace my SRH840. How good is SRH1540 in terms of female vocals? I heard the mids are not too forward... I mostly listen to vocal trance.- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
The consensus seems to be gravitating towards HD600.. How forward are mids on HD600?What about the quality and amount of bass? My other concern is I would prefer a closed pair as I often listen to music next to my wife while she is sleeping.. I am worried if I get an open pair then I...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
Thank you everyone for the recommendations. I have been thinking about HE 500 for a while however, here in the UK, they are extremely expensive: £600+ Could anyone give more info regarding beyer T90? Sound signature, soundstage, detail retrieval etc. HD600 might be a good choice, how...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
Ok, there really is a lot of options. I will try to be more specific I would prefer a closed pair even though it will be strictly for home use. Genres I mostly listen to: Vocal Trance, other melodic trance, other EDM with Vocal. In addition some older rock eg. Led Zeppelin. Also...- EllipticCurve

Best cans for female vocals <$500
The title pretty much says it all. I am looking for clear, airy and intimate vocals. Good soundstage and lot of detail retrieval would be ideal too. For reference I am currently using a Shure SRH840 and I really like it's sound signature, but I got some cash to blow on headphones and...- EllipticCurve
