Elekit 300B Amp kit
Yes I'm running the TU-8900 + Amorphous output transformers and have paired with Sen hd 800 and Hifiman he6 using a Chord Dave front end both are really superb out of the 8900 fwiw it's also one of the quietest amps I've owned tube or ss. Had the Sen 800 paired up with a hot rodded Bottlehead...- JamieMcC

Best of the Best: Meet the Apos Ray 6SN7 Reserve Vacuum Tube
Probably the demand for such new tube offerings is going to be driven by amp manufacturers themselves to be included when they sell a new amp. They will purchase in baulk with a substantial discount from the retail price the public sees.- JamieMcC

Best of the Best: Meet the Apos Ray 6SN7 Reserve Vacuum Tube
The warranty sucks it's crazy that you can buy a old nos tube from the 50 and 60 that was made with really old technology yet it still works and sounds great I've some that have been used for 5+ years with zero issues. Yet a modern tube made with "cutting edge engineering" gets a misery three...- JamieMcC

Eufonika (Valve amps from Poland)
I found a internal pic it looked like 1uf which would make them to expensive as the H5 needs four. If 0.1uf it might have been a option I would guess Eufonika gets a good deal on Milflex as they are also manufactured in Poland.- JamieMcC

Eufonika (Valve amps from Poland)
Does anyone know the uf value and voltage rating of the output capacitors in the H5 the ones that are used in the milflex version. I ask as I see Milflex have released a new silver foil capacitor range. Edit found the answer- JamieMcC

Chord Mojo(1) DAC-amp ☆★►FAQ in 3rd post!◄★☆
Fwiw I had some unexpected results from powering some small DIY desk top speakers directly from the mojo. This from a few years back I was messing around and hooked up the mojo direct to some small desktop speakers I had built the misses came over and sat down to listen (must be sounding nice)...- JamieMcC

I've brought several electrical components from Ukraine eBay sellers in the past with shipping to the UK and have never had any issues. Shipping often takes longer than expected but that's probably to be expected.- JamieMcC

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Have owned a Dave for four years now I do think it's a great bit of kit but I also enjoy listening to my car radio which is definitely not hifi 😁 Striving for High fidelity is no guarantee of enjoyment and I've yet to hear a stereo system that comes close to sitting a 3 or 4 metres away from a...- JamieMcC

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
That was pretty much what I was getting at the hd800 are enjoyable on the Crack but capable of a lot more than the Crack is able to deliver move up to Mainline and it takes the hd800 to whole different level if you have a good front end.- JamieMcC

Crack;Bottlehead OTL
Just an point of view HD 800 on a Crack imo does sound nice particularly if you have a few mods and some choice tubes. The Cravat is ultimately the Crack is going to be a bottle neck and limit what the HD800 is capable of delivering particularly in soundstage and resolution.- JamieMcC

Torpedo III Build Thread
I remember on the Bottlehead forum when you built the Sex with those giant Ampohm output capacitors and Goldpoint attenuator. It was an amazing build. I still have my Sex amp as well its probably the sweet spot of the Bottleheads headphone amps imo- JamieMcC

Copy and paste from the old cached Bottlehead forum The 7236 is a computer rated 5998A but should sonically sound similar to the 5998. This specific 7236 has zirconium coated grey box plates. Similar to the 5998 sound abeit more linear, tighter bass and more dynamic. Basically a "faster and...- JamieMcC
