There is a history of audio companies making coffee gear, too. Versalab used to make the Versa Dynamics turntable. Excellent table even if it was over $8,000 back in the 1980s. https://www.versalab.com/GRINDER.html

Travel with an Aeropress, and vacuum seal individual pre-ground 17 gram doses. As long as the room has a microwave to heat up some bottled water you're all set. Best setup there is for someone who travels a lot. Still looking for a small portable electric pot though.

Get the large. It works fine for smaller amounts, but lets you make you up to about 18 ounces if you need it. I make a 14 ounce mugful in the mornings with mine, but have made great 8 ounce cups for my wife with it too. just adjust the amount of coffee accordingly.

Agreed on the Clever Dripper, it is an excellent device. I use one almost every day. My other favorite single cup brewer is the Aeropress. I use the Clever on weekday mornings (I use a larger mug on workdays) and the Aeropress on the weekends. For the Clever I use 25 grams of coffee with 418...

there are many videos on youtube about using the aeropress, though many make it seem more complex that it needs be. If I find a short but good one I'll post a link.

I would highly recommend you consider an Aeropress. They last forever, make great coffee and when the rubber plunger wears out they will mail you a new one for about $6 if you call them and ask. I recommend the inverted method, and a little trial and error with grind, temp (lower than you would...

or you might consider one of these: https://www.versalab.com/COFFEE.html years ago they made one of the best turntables ever built. https://www.versalab.com/VERSA%20DYNAMICS.html https://www.psaudio.com/article/versa-dynamics/ I got to meet John Bicht a few times, and he was quite the...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

All Zu speakers do very well with low powered amps. All are upper 90s to low 100s in efficiency and tend to be well above 8 ohms (closer to 12 to 14 if I recall correctly). They do have pretty high power handling capability too. One friend has custom built Zus and switches between a 4 wpc...

That's a beautiful looking amp! Is that a push-pull or a paralleled single ended design? What's the tube complement?

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I can confirm this from my own experience. One of the best matchups I've had with my Lores has been with an ampandsound Mogwai single-ended amp that puts out about 3 to 4 watts into an 8 ohm load with KT88 tubes (one of the best amps I've heard with my headphone collection too). Yet with their...

My wife bought the Cafflano at CoffeeCon in LA last year. I like the AeroPress better, and it certainly cleans up faster than the Cafflano, but in a side-by-side comparison, she prefers the unfiltered brew from the Cafflano.

Not sure if you are serious or joking here. But I imagine a Keurig is far from anything Schiit would produce if they got interested in coffee. Learn a little about brewing coffee, and you will see that almost every aspect of it is done incorrectly with a Keurig (time, temp, coffee/water ratio...

AeroPress and a Clever Dripper are all you need unless you are making more than one cup at a time. Also have a Cafflano Kompact as my wife prefers coffee without a paper filter and I don't like using a metal filter in my AeroPress. Will be getting a Cafflano Kompresso next time they have them...

Play music she really likes, and avoid stuff she doesn't until she says yes! I've got a single Vidar running with my Double Impacts now. You'll have to wait a while for the review to publish, but a single Vidar will drive them very loudly without any effort at all. The DIs are very efficient...

Or you could listen to the Goodall Ring cycle sung in English. I have the original LPs and they are quite well done. Have the Solti Ring on LP too. Like them both, though it's been a while since I've listened to them.

I have Tekton Lores in black and another set in bright orange, and a set of Double Impacts in light gray. My wife has no problems with them at all. They make her favorite music and movies sound great so she's good with how they look.

Thanks! Having the arm designed for easy adjustment is significant, especially at the lower cost end of the spectrum (it is expected and common in higher priced arms). I don't get fussy about changing VTA for every album, but do make sure it is correct on average for the cartridge installed...

The arm looks great. How easy will it be to adjust VTA and azimuth? Will its effective mass be better suited to high or low compliance cartridges?

Roy expected you would use one of his cartridges. That is why there are aftermarket VTA bases for Rega tonearms.

I'll mostly disagree with your first comment, though like most things (audio included) the majority of people in any country go for mundane, inferior cheap stuff, and only those who care to, understand and appreciate the better stuff. Plenty of exceptional coffee to be had in the US, even if...
