For my money, Dunu DN12 is still the king of (ultra-)budget.

I've had great synergy between HD650 and Neco Soundlab Bossfet, and with Graham Slee Solo UL.

Just picked up a mint SBC-HD1500 U set. Surprisingly competent, both in surround and stereo mode! Also, the headphone amplifier (two 6,3mm outputs) isn't half bad, really. Bargain.

Back on topic: I rate the HD595 and HD598 particularly high on comfort: no headphone I know comes close to being so easy to wear, IMO.

Agree, I have had mine for a month now and am rather impressed with its build quality. Somehow I'm less enamored by the battery autonomy compared to an IPod Classic, but I suppose all that Android stuff and the sound quality have to take their toll somewhere. I get about 12h without recharging...

Your experience totally matches mine. Driven by Graham Slee Solo UL here, it's just so effortlessly natural in a way only the hd650 can be (apart from an hd580 :-) )

Agree with the praise of portable Neco's. I have a v2, not only does the charged battery last forever but it rivals some seriously good desktops.

Agree. I just got the standard UL with PSU1 and it is extremely refined with Sennheiser and AKG.

Agree - I kept reading reviews about how the K550 was so fantastically open for a closed headphone. Never really bought into it until I got a Graham Slee Solo Ultralinear... now I understand. They really are very good with good amplification (although, in all fairness, my iPod drives them as well).
