I want to have a custom headband made for my JVC-HA-SZ2000. How do I go about doing this?
I love my headphone, but it has some build quality issues. The cups are rock solid but the headband is sort of flimsy, creaky plastic, and I don't have a ton of faith in the hinges. Also, the model is getting pretty rare and expensive and I want to ensure that my headphone will have a longer...- autoteleology

I'm looking for a <$200 amp that has lots of power and some desk appeal.
I need something much more powerful than my Magni 2 Uber (1.8W @ 16Ω) to drive my JVC HA-SZ2000 EQ'd for massive bass impact. Basically all I want is some recommendations for headphone amps or receivers/speaker amps (I plan on using an adapter to tap the speaker outputs) that are inexpensive...- autoteleology

~$150 Amp for AKG 7XX
Title says it all. I'm looking for a good and cheap amplifier for a K701 variant. Soundstage and imaging are top priority. This won't be my daily driver, I own a Stax Lambda, but the Stax has poor imaging for gaming. I've been looking at the Schiit Vali/Magni and the Little Dot 1+ (both of...- autoteleology

What is the bassiest high-quality 6FQ7/6CG7 tube?
Title says it all. I'm just looking for a high-quality bassy tube for my Stax SRM-T1, since I have to do a tube replacement anyways and I might as well try to improve the sound signature while I'm at it.- autoteleology

Dubstep/Basshead looking into classical music
Title says it all. I'm looking for some well-produced examples of classical music to introduce myself to the genre; faster-paced music is preferred, but all suggestions are welcome.- autoteleology

Beat by Dre: The Story of How Monster Lost the World
I found a very interesting article on Gawker about the business relationship between Monster and Interscope Records that eventually led to the creation of Beats by Dre. It almost makes me feel a little bad for Monster. Almost...- autoteleology

Speaker amplifier help
I help out with local music events, I'm what you would call the sound tech, making sure everything sounds good. Last gig I worked at featured a DJ with two huge bass subs that we couldn't get working properly because his amplifier only put out 30 watts, when the subs required a minimum of 300...- autoteleology

Fiio E7 Problem
My Fiio E7 absolutely refuses to work on one, and only one, of my USB ports. It charges off of the port, but will not act as a DAC while connected to the port. The USB port functions as normal for all other purposes. If you need any further information, ask away.- autoteleology

Gaming Headset v. Hi-fi Headphones?
I don't really get the niche that high-end gaming headsets are supposed to fill, especially when you factor in consoles. I see and hear about these super-expensive Turtle Beach headsets that seem to be tied to the hip with MW3 (like how Mountain Dew cello-taped itself to the skater/sports...- autoteleology

Burn-in
When burning in a pair of headphones: Is it better to constantly play music through the drivers, or to give the phones occasional breaks? Does it matter what is played through the drivers during burn-in? Does volume make a difference in the burn-in process? etc?- autoteleology

Stereo Tool (and other DSPs)
After a lot of lurking around this site, I've seen nearly no mention of Stereo Tool (or really, any other digital sound processing programs). I know that, once you get to the real hi-fi sound systems, you're not supposed to need to do that sort of thang, but people seem to rely almost...- autoteleology

Stupid noob question...
If I'm using a USB line-in with my laptop, will I still be able to use the EQ and DSP plugins on my media player? Just wanting to make sure before I drop some bones on the E7.- autoteleology

Newbie looking for his first amp
I'm very new to the audiophile scene. I own a laptop with atrocious in-computer audio and a pair of Sony XB500's (I am rather strapped for cash), and I am planning to buy an M50 for my first real set of cans. I listen to a lot of bass-heavy electronica, and some rock. The amp needs...- autoteleology

Help choosing new 'phones
I'm considering replacing my (while entertaining) Sony MDR XB500's for headphones that are at least a little more accurate and a lot less sibilance-prone. - I have about $300 to spend. - I listen to mostly electronic music, such as trance, gabber, and dubstep. However, I occasionally...- autoteleology
