I had always suspected that was the case. I remember getting my kit and being amazed that all these parts could come packaged at that price point. The Torpedo I remains an insane value in the world of DIY tube gear, even with the price increase.

squeal is gone from right channel now. Was starting to hear a teeny weeny bit in the left channel but that's gone too. Running 620V bias with great results. Might want to use a tad bit of EQ on the very top still.   For classical this headphone is amazing. Gorgeous midrange that sucks you in...

Any ideas on how to eliminate a slight squeal in the right channel?   It tends to get worse as I boost bias voltage.

You definitely don't want that headphone with Torp 1. I'd guess Zout on Torp3 is lower and might be better match.

I'm guessing Doug is still running the Cinemag OPTs through the gauntlet. Any idea when the nickel will be ready for the plebs?

I will agree with Doug. Capacitor rolling can give you a slightly different signature but with signal transformers the differences are more tangible. Once I'm able to put those Cinemags in my Torp1 I'll let you guys know in more certain terms

What sort of shift are you looking for exactly?   With the Jantzen Silvers I have in my Torpedo things are just a lot more clear and energetic. I consider it a direct upgrade from the Solens (which aren't bad sounding, but can be improved IMO)
