CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

Yes, **** ****. As I said before, I completely accept the possibility that I got a bad pair, but both earpieces sounded identical. This held true with not only switching the left and right earpieces, but using different cables. If they *were* defective, both earpieces had the exact same...

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I posted my criticism well before crinacle posted his measurements. Check the dates on my posts in this thread. You're also totally ignoring the fact that this board often behaves in the exact opposite way, hyping up tons of headphones to an absurd degree, many of which don't hold up to the...

CCA in ear monitors Impressions Thread

I'm personally waiting for the CCA C688. 343 BAs and one dynamic per side. It'll be so large that you actually have to wear it as a helmet and will cost $1100. I figure it'll be out by mid-August

The Xelento's are exceedingly easy to drive, so it's not that big surprise.

The DAC I'm using can put 1.32V in to a 33ohm load, way, way more than is necessary to run the ****. Look up measurements for the Speaka USB DAC, it's identical.

No, I just really, really hated the ****. Very cathartic.

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

I listen to a wide variety of music (folk, rock, alt, indie, pop, metal, classical, bit of hip-hop) from FLACs and 320kb MP3s. Sources were my Huawei Mate 10 or an ExtremPro X1 (ESS 9023-based) USB DAC from phone and computer. Sources really aren't an issue here. My daily drivers are Sony...

Very open, very airy. Great separation, too. Unfortunately it also made them a bit sharp.

If it was a QC issue it was an amazing one because both earpieces sounded equally bad, even with a replacement cable.

Connectors are MMCX, not two-pin. If they were out of phase they were wired that way from the factory. Not encouraging either way.

CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest

The **** sounds like everything is being filtered through a pair of socks. I tried different tips, I tried a different cable, god help me I even tried burn-in. Nothing helped. Good build quality, though. They took a remarkable amount of force to crush in the vice so I guess that's a positive.

If my DT6s are at all typical they're complete garbage. A congested, muddy mess that are easily beaten by (many) other IEMs at the same price.

    KEF M200, meet Mr. Hacksaw!

Old Kef M200 New Kef M200! I also pulled out the driver/nozzle assemblies and flipped them 180 degrees so they'd be at the correct angle when worn cable up. Ah whiskey and brute force. Great combination, or greatest combination?

Reply to review by 'jekostas' on item 'TTPOD T2-E 3Driver Hybrid 2BA+Dynamic Hybrid Drive(ED-29689+TA7801) Headphones Gray'

Who knows.  It was rumoured that the Pro would use a TWFK as the BAs instead of the 29689.  If so it would fix my one biggest issue with the T2-E, the lack of detail in the mid and high ranges.

TTPOD T2-E   Introduction Today I’m going to be looking at the TTPOD T2-E, one of the cheapest triple driver hybrid headphones on the market, and an update to the somewhat disappointing TTPOD T2.   Price Paid: $89.99   Specifications: -Brand: TTPOD -Model: T2-E -Drivers: 10mm “nano...

    TTPOD T2 Hybrid iems

Take the T2, add a massive mid-bass boost at 250hz and a sibilance-inducing treble boost at ~6khz and you get the T2-E   It's pretty much garbage, don't bother.

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

I don't have a lot of experience with the piston 3 (about 3 hours on a loaner) so take this with a grain of salt: The Bette has less bass, especially mid-bass, and a touch more in the high-midrange/low treble. Clarity is similar but the Bette has more detail. Soundstage is a bit bigger on the...

Alright y'all, I've posted my "finished" review of the Bette hybrids here:  http://www.head-fi.org/products/bette-8mm-1-1-hybrid/reviews/13561   Only one more section to add.  It is possible to do some mechanical tuning on the Bette Hybrids.  Blocking the rear vent doesn't seem to do much, I...

Review by 'jekostas' on item 'Bette 8MM 1+1 Hybrid'

Bette 1+1 Hybrid IEMs   Introduction Today I’m looking at a value priced 1+1 Hybrid purchased from ToBetter on Amazon.  The “Bette” hybrid is a 1 BA + 1 Dynamic hybrid IEM that costs under $40 but still produces excellent sound quality and manages to punch way, way above it’s price point.  ...
