    Bowers&Wilkins new flagship the P9!

Are P7 and P9 cables interchangeable? I ask because I have a P7 and I'd be really convenient if I could use the P9's lightning cable.

McIntosh MHP1000 Headphones Announced in CES

Yeah, actually, Qpad has their branded MMX 300, and they also have their branded version of the chinese knockoff.

    Mouse -Fi

Quote:   The memory in these mice is typically measured in kilobytes and the margins on these mice are insane anyway.  It's also another program you need to keep running.  With built in memory I just remove the mouse's driver from start up and just open it when I need to change something...

    Denon D7100?!

I've got a weird question: I notice that the earcups on these look similar to those on the new Logitech UE noise cancelers, Are they made by the same OEM?

    DIY Cable Gallery!!

I imagine you would need to somehow dip the individual strands but in what I wouldn't tell you.     @FraGGler: mini to XLR, I can't help but find that amusing, though I imagine people have had to use one of those somewhere along the line.

450 might work better at a lower polling rate, worth a shot.

The Zowie's probably the better option, Steelseries's mice never panned out how you might expect.  The Sensei and Xai use the 9800, Kana uses a pixart sensor with a low malfunction speed.     G400, Death Adder, EC/AM, Savu (don't use the highest DPI step, it's fake), Maybe the CM Storm...

Can't an H/R receiver turn 8 channel PCM to dolby headphone?

Your computer would need Dolby Digital Live encoding over optical for it to work on PC.     Also something I feel I should point out: It's my understanding that the Wii U will not have optical out.

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

The FR with CMSS 3D is still pretty flat.  I tried it out with a sinewave generator.  It just sounds processed.

I imagine the THX choice awards whatever implementation was designed to have the full set of 3D audio data rather than just 5 channels.  It does however make me interested in that new sound blaster Z series, assuming it actually does hardware sound.

Quick little bit about the DSS: It's hiss varies slightly with changes in volume.

I notice in the first post, you're not sure on how the hiss coming out the DSS behaves exactly?  I can test this for you.     I feel like this guide could use a list of receivers with Dolby Headphone/Silent Cinema.  Not necessarily a test, just an overview of what's out there, perhaps along...

"Fulfilled By Amazon" might as well mean sold by amazon.  It's stored and shipped by them.

    Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion

Quote: A headphone doesn't need to distort that much for its own distortion to make whatever the amp is doing almost negligible.  The Solo HDs are well above 1% THD over the entire spectrum.  You're not going to be able to tell the difference between amps through those.  The regular solos...

    Constructive "Anti-Beats" headphone discussion

The noise canceling in the studio line adds too much distortion and hiss but doesn't reduce noise by much and can't be run without it, that makes these a 100% pointless headphone in my eye at most any price.  It's rather telling that this headphone's design went with the company that marketed it...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

I imagine that might have something to do with the EQ they used screwing up the HRTF's own EQ effects.  Seems like a really pointless feature.

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

So just some quick explanations of what can go wrong with an amp AFAIK, low sensitivity and impedance headphones can sound bad because many amps distort more as they near their current limit.  A lot of amps and particularly PC headphone outs have highish output impedances which causes low...

New DENON "Music Maniac" & "Urban Raver" Lines: D7100, D600, D400 & C300 Impressions Thread

I tried Beats Pro once.  I can't comment on their sound because they were by far the least comfortable headphone I'd ever worn, like some kind of torture device.

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote: I've never been terribly convinced by the push pull explanation, but on the other hand the signal between the + and - channels on a balanced amp are going to be the same, but the noise will not, so it effectively increases signal to noise.
