I started my journey with the 650 too. I am re-discovering what I have been missing for years listening to other cans. Some more expensive. These are better. I never really properly amped them so I am listening to them for the first time today really.

My source chain is my pc (JRiver)(USB) > Topping D90 III Sabre (Balanced out) > iFi iCan Pro Signature (Balanced). Currently listening to the 650 and don't think I could give up these mids so that answers that lol. Maybe I should just sit tight. Then again.......

If I like the HD 800 S and love the HD 650 will I like the HD 660 S2?

As far as focusing on one genre to get right it would have to be classical. It has to be a fast headphone with great imaging. Wondering if the Utopia which has come up a couple times here would fit the bill?

Mainly the LCD series from Audeze, the 2, 4, and 5. All of which I own and like to some degree but not as much as the Senns. I have also heard the Fostex TH-900 and some of the old Denon series of headphones. Those are good but don't offer the resolution I am looking for.

I ordered one of these and is on the way. The main reason I picked it over the less expensive D70 was dual dacs and the clear ability to do DSD. This is not mentioned in the D70 description but is on the D90 III.
