New Teac HA-P50-B Portable DAC Amp
I'm very surprised there's not more "love" for this awesome little Dac/Amp on head-fi. I'm really enjoying streaming Tidal on my iPhone 6/Teach HA-P50 with AKG 3003i IEM's. Very organic and 3D sounding. IMO: considering the price, it's one of the best mid-fi values out there.- Dan Millheim

AKG K3003 High End 3 Way System Headphone
From my experience, the AKG 3003i out of an iPhone 6 sounds very nice. Adding the TEAC ha-p50 bypasses the internal dac of the iPhone using a standard usb to lightning cable. The added dac and amp of the Teac with iPhone and AKG 3003i renders the sound more 3D, adds depth and improved instrument...- Dan Millheim

AKG K3003 High End 3 Way System Headphone
Hello All, Thanks to an amazing deal from a member of this thread I am now the new owner of the AKG 3003i and love them! Getting a proper seal really is critical. I was having trouble with the stock tips until I tried the cotton tip mod and now the seal is perfect. Learned that here, so thanks...- Dan Millheim

Lee Weiland; the passing of my friend 1966 - 2011
Lee was a great friend and one of the most generous people I have ever met. I have wonderful memories of him coming over to my house and listening to music and talking all things audio. He said I got him into Headphones but he took it to a whole new level. The audio community is loosing an...- Dan Millheim

New Pads and Many Hours: The Ultrasone Edition 10, Take Two
Hey Lee, Great to see you posting on HF about the ED10's. Are you running them balanced? Do you enjoy them more then your ED8's which I think I remember you saying had a slight advantage over the ED9's? Also, I can't wait to hear what you think of the C32. Keep us posted. Petition: I would like the old site back (or other choice)
I have tried to keep and open mind on the recent changes to the site but this new layout is killing the enjoyment of being here and I now find myself spending less and less time on head-fi. I'm all for change normally but this is a total FAIL.- Dan Millheim

DECWARE HAS RELEASED A DAC!! ZDAC-1
I actually just ordered the Zdac-1 to hold me over until my Sonicweld Decoder comes in. I've owned a Zbox buffer in the past but preferred the Audio Horizon TB5.0n buffer which is a really great. I'll let you know what I think of the Zdac after it burns in a bit.- Dan Millheim

Extreme Near-Field Fi
The arrangement of the A5's are slightly in front and extremely "toed in" when the recliner is fully stretched out. I have wall treatments that are not visible in this picture. The Bass sub is behind the chair as is a bass acoustic corner trap.I'm using an RR-77 and Symphony Pro which also...- Dan Millheim

JH 13 and ambient tubes
I would not recommend the ambient tube option unless you are using these as on stage monitors and want to be able to hear natural room acoustics along with your mix. The only reason this option was originally included is that a surprising number of musicians found it disconcerting to be...- Dan Millheim

Is there anyone using near-field speakers/ sub toed in 3 feet on either side of a listening chair to create a kind of mega headphone... extreme...- Dan Millheim

What's the best solid state headphone amp today?
Sonicweld/Locus Design soon to be released balanced DECODER. It's going to be a reference level Dac/ Amp/Pre. reported to be a total "game changer." Given Josh's design standards, it will also be a piece of audio art! Down side is it will be spendy.- Dan Millheim

Audioengine Custom Cables.
I recently added an Audioengine A5/S8 near field listening set up to my headphone rig and have loved the sound I am hearing. Wow! Amarra - anyone using it?
Qualifier: I'm making the switch to a dedicated computer based system so I don't have much experience with this technology on the audiophile level in which I am accustomed.
