starting a thread to document some info on this little amp. This is probably still in production as there are multiple listings on ebay. Typical price is $120 at this point. I recently bought a used (likely a customer returned semi-defective) unit, for a bit less, mainly to play with. Two 6J1...- AudioCats

HiFiMan He-560 driver failure types ?
I bought a pair of "as-is for repair/parts" he560 off ebay to play with. It is the "adorama exclusive" V4 version and seller was adorama so I suppose it was a customer-returned unit. Phones were in pretty good condition, probably used very little before being returned. The symptom was "audio...- AudioCats

Appj DIY tube amp ( 6j1 + 6p6p), has anybody tried one?
5654 (6j1) pushing 6v6 (6p6p). Transformer coupled output, should be suitable for low Z planars. Probably not difficult to put into an enclosure, or just mount on a piece of wood and put a mesh basket over it. Has anybody played with one? For ~$100 worth a try?- AudioCats

Regulated high voltage supply utilizing TL783 regulator

It is a 3-pin device, input, output, adj. no gnd pin. output floats 1.25v above the adj pin voltage...- AudioCats

UPC1237 protection board (amazon)
noticed these on amazon, $8. Speaker protection board utilizing upc1237. value of the middle electrolytic capacitor affects the "on-delay" time. Relays engage when voltage at this cap reaches about 2v. 1000uf => ~50 seconds delay. This cap sees about 2.2v. Good addition to a tube amp...- AudioCats
