    Sennheiser HD800S Treble

I had exactly the same issue. Violectric V200 pretty much solved the problem in my case as well. Much recommended.

Warm, low power amp/dac for Fidelio X2

Nono, I think you misunderstand me. I've tried A LOT of headphones (including all the relevant senns, hifimans, audezes) and like the X2s best. Senns I find too boring (HD598 and 600) or too piercing (HD700 and 800), hifimans I generally like but my ears don't deal well with the amount of detail...

Warm, low power amp/dac for Fidelio X2

Dear Head-Fi Community   I'm looking for a different amp for my Fidelio X2s. It may sound odd, but I don't like the X2s too much with the O2 ODAC, they sound too bright/aggressive. I know the O2 ODAC is neutral, but I suppose I like my X2s smoother than than they normally are. Can anyone...

    Problem with volume adjustment

I see, that's not a problem in any way, is it? I can't see why it would be :) well, either way, thanks again. You've been a great help!!!

    Problem with volume adjustment

It's worked out perfectly! The odd thing is that now, the amp is set to low gain if the gain button is pushed in. Before the modification, it was 2.5/6.5 gain and now it's 2.5/1.0 gain and not 1.0/2.5. That's not reason for concern, right? I mean, I'll just keep the button pushed in.

    Problem with volume adjustment

Perfect, now I know everything I wanted to know. Have a few thumbs up! Thanks a lot. I'll let you know how things go with the clipping.  Cheers

Do exist better headphones than ATH M50X with the same budget?

there is no "better" in audio, unless your goal is high fidelity/neutrality (in that case, pick the sennheiser). Go listen to both of them and pick the one you like better.

    Problem with volume adjustment

Thank you so much for the explanations and suggestion! I understand it now and I will clip. The only question I still have is: What do you mean by "modifying the digital audio data"... does that mean you increase or decrease the amount of digital data sent to the O2 ODAC or...? I mean, it...

    Problem with volume adjustment

hmm, no, i'm quite sure i'm NOT bypassing the ODAC using the motherboard's DAC, it's the other way round... right?. But then what am I adjusting when i change the volume in windows? When I click the little icon at the bottom right corner, it tells me that i'm adjusting the volume of the ODAC...

    Problem with volume adjustment

Dear Head-Fiers   I've got a minor issue with my Fidelio X2s, O2 ODAC and the inbuilt amp section of my PC's motherboard (chain: PC > O2 ODAC > X2). I'll try to explain the problem as best I can:   So after extensive testing, I figured that I get the best sound out of my system if I maximize...

Do exist better headphones than ATH M50X with the same budget?

they are a tad more expensive, but you could have a look at the sennheiser hd 25-1 ii. They were built for DJs, are small on-ears and offer great isolation, in case you need that. they won't fall off your head either, you can spread the two parts of the headband.

    Alternative to EL-8 Open

Thanks a ton for your elaborate response, I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I've since been able to listen to almost all the high end HPs I wanted to listen to, including the HE1000. And... I've come to the conclusion that you're correct :) At the moment, I'm very happy with my Fidelio X2s, they...

    Hifiman Edition X

hmm, by now i'm truly interested in this product. how would you describe the bass? all i ever wanted is a smoother 560 with more rumbly sub-bass presence... i know, i could go for an audeze product, but i feel they're overpriced and too heavy.

    Hifiman Edition X

Hmm, less peaky than the 560? that sounds fantastic. does it also sound richer and fuller?
