    Hifiman HE6-SE

Short answer is yes. I run both my HE-6SE and HE-500 out of speaker taps of my old Pioneer Spec system and the sound is incredible. Have been doing it this way since my first HE-6 years ago and will never go back. As said by others, you just have to be careful with the volume control, both...

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.

I'm with you and bagwell on this whole concept................I've auditioned/owned/tested/shared over 60 headphones over the last 10 years. It was a fun thing to keep trying new ones and I learned a lot...............mostly what I like, what I don't like and ended up with the HE-500, HE-6SE...

Post A Photograph Of Your Turntable

Have you found a vintage stereo shop up in Seattle? If so..........see if they have a classic unit in good shape. That's what I did to get my old Pioneer TT. What are you going to drive it with?

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

If you can find a pair nowadays in the classifieds they are well worth it. Still have mine for over 12 years and had them and the Fostex 900 at the same time - so close to each other (no surprise, built by Foster) but I still liked the D7000 better.

    Hifiman HE6-SE

Yep, it's the Ali headband much like the V1 HE-6SE (have one of those as well but................blew it up by inadvertently leaving the speaker selector on my Spec system on A and B instead of just A and "Welcome to the Machine" by Pink Floyd played at very high volume did them in) but the...

    Hifiman HE6-SE

Been away for a while enjoying these and my HE-500's (both with Dekoni pads, fed from speaker taps, both with Q French Silk cables) and it's time to ask what I've asked many times over the last few years...........who else is feeding these babies from a vintage amp? Mine is a Pioneer Spec setup...

    Hifiman HE6-SE

That's what I did with my HE-6SE V2 a couple of years ago...............still by far (after over 60 headphones owned/tested/traded) my favorite headphone.

    Denon AH-D7000

If I remember correctly, Foster made the D7000 so parts should be interchangeable for the most part. Not sure if they made changes when they started making the TH900.

    Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!

Totally agree...............have had a set since 2012. Had Mark Lawton do his magic, added some Teak cups (wood from SE Asia), a Q French Silk cable and Mark's angled lambskin pads. Will never sell these................and preferred them to the TH-900 which I had at the same time, also fully...

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

Last question before I try it - the "glue" is left on the headphone when you remove the original pad?

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

I've got an AU-717 that I use as the amp in a TV system that I use a Yamaha RX=670 for the preamp that is amazing for Blu-Ray's of concert videos..........watched/listened to Rush's Snake and Arrows Blu-Ray recently and was blown away. It feeds a nice pair of Polk Audio 5JR "bookshelf" speakers...

Any old fart head-fi'ers still around?

I'm "only" a 11 year member now................seeing all the guys from 2002ish is amazing. Cheers to y'all.............I never stopped visiting, just transitioned jobs in 2021 and visited rarely for a few months. Such a change over my short tenure...............costs are insane now. 60+...

I'm game. How do the Fostex/Dekoni pads attach to the Pioneer?

    Pioneer's First Hi-End Headphones: SE-Master 1

Hmm..............makes me wonder whether the Lawton lambskin pads would be a good match for these...........and have a pair on both my MD-2000 and LA-7000 headphones that I could try. May do that and post up. I rarely listen to the Pioneer these days, not because I don't like them but been...
