Project Sunrise/PS2 Tube Rolling Thread (and maybe even Project Horizon and Project Ember)
I would have to respectfully disagree Mop. I have the following: E88CC ( came with Sunrise III) ECC82 ECC802S and just picked up a pair of 6N6P 80's NOS. I can say I noticed a significant difference in overall loudness between the E88CC and the ECC82 where the E88CC was louder with everything...- Nightmistx22

Project Sunrise/PS2 Tube Rolling Thread (and maybe even Project Horizon and Project Ember)
Yea i have played around with the output resistance. I find that the overal tonaility becomes slightly darker but it also sounds less dynamic. The AD900X is a 38ohm phone so med res is nearly the same (32ohm). From what i have read that really hurts dampining factor. I just found foobar and...- Nightmistx22

Project Sunrise/PS2 Tube Rolling Thread (and maybe even Project Horizon and Project Ember)
Hello All, I just got the Sunrise III. Came with JJ E88CC tube. Still burning it in but i am looking at other tubes that might go better with lower impeadence cans ( ATH-AD900X ). I find it get too loud too fast. Currently looking at 12AU7 as i read it is a lower gain tube. Any...- Nightmistx22

Project Sunrise III
Anyone else have this amp? I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. I am really liking it however i do have a few issues with it. Mostly with the included tube JJ E88CC and my ATH-AD900X. I don't know much about tube as this is my first foray into tube amps but i think this is a high gain tube as...- Nightmistx22

While walking around Seoul's Yongsan Electronics market ( imagine about 8 blocks and about 20 buildings full of electronic stuff ) i happened to walk by a street vendor that had an assortment of headphones. Most of which were cutesy stuff that just yelled i sound crappy... but i did find a small...- Nightmistx22

Quote: Yea i had that same thought about the demo cans. but i described what i heard from those headphones as best i could. and from what i heard the AD900X sounded the best. You should take a trip to seoul. It is an amazing city. Can't say i tried the Soju, not really into...- Nightmistx22

I was up in Seoul doing some site seeing before i head back stateside and found a shop in the iPark mall at Yongsan Station. The Headphone shop (yes thats its name) is just a small vender or kiosk if you will but the wall they do have has several major brands all just hanging there for your...- Nightmistx22

Last weekend in korea and had a lot of down time so i went to check out Digital Code, looked a lot bigger in the pictures, and it was a neat place. Sampled XBA 3 and 4 ( 3 sounded more natural and balanced. i think the 4s tips were too big so i couldn't get a good seal) and several other brands...- Nightmistx22

Ds, How are those CKN50s treating you? Don't recall seeing a full on review\ impression on them as the ES700 seem to have gotten most of the love. I do remember you saying that AT has really upped their game so maybe some of that will be translated down to their two newer and cheaper...- Nightmistx22

The NEW ATH-ES700..
Dsnuts, This might be the hardest question you have ever been asked... between the ES700 and the AD900X, if you could only keep 1, which would it be?- Nightmistx22

Wow, That Digital Code store looks awesome. HanYang in ETLand is like a cramped basement version of Digital Code, mostly because it kinda is in a basement. Wish i had time to check out Digital Code before i leave Korea. Oh well.- Nightmistx22

Ds, How do the ES700 compare to the XBA-3? Which would you see yourself using more on a plane or bus? Not that i can buy either one anytime soon... just like to know.- Nightmistx22

I was in ETLand near the Yongsan Station and the Electronics Market. The Plevel had a headphone shop named Han Yang that had many many brands. Prices didn't seem all that competitive, but its was a pretty awesome place to check out.- Nightmistx22
