My 4490's USB section completely crapped out on me yesterday. My pc nor smartphone recognize and ive tried a different usb cable at no avail. Ive had for about 4 months and about 98% powered on all the time. I think having it powered on constantly may have had something to do with it but thats...

Now that i feel my 4490 is broken in, I have to say that this is one amazing dac. Note 3>Rhapsody 320kbps>USB3.0>4490>jds labs c5>Sony mdr-e10lp earbuds. Fantastic earbud headphones btw.

I'll be on my way soon, coming up from San Antonio.

I am loving every bit of this DAC. I also listened to Bitfrost which is an impressive DAC on its own, but fell in love with the sound of 4490. I just want to know which of the filters it employs or if it employs all of them. This what it states on the AKM site: The 5 types of digital filters...

Is this the case for Modi 2 Uber? because in all honesty, i am preferring that sound than the bitfrost. but that's just me.

okay, yea thats what i thinking. and i see you have the "wyrd" in your audio chain. does that make a difference even with discrete powered amp like bifrost?

I have been reading first impressions for the Bitfrost and they are suggesting to let it warm up for 2-4 hours to maximum sound/sonic performance. My question is, is this the case for 4490? Would it have to warm up to get best performance?

So is it really woth upgrading to 4490? I currently have bUber and i want to stay away from multibit.
