$200 is about the maximum I would pay.

    Wanted: wireless headphone recommendation

I'm looking for a wireless headphone to listen to music on ipod classic. I have the main setup with Denon d7000 and amps. This one is to go lighter on the road but with the similar sound signature. Are all wireless ones are closed? I want it to be closed so that it won't leak sound.

Quote: d7k definitely sounds more balanced and sophisticated. d2k is a fun headphone to listen to pop & rock, although. Yes, I had d2k before d7k, which is the headphone that I settled with.

Just ordered the LA7000 and need advice with a suitable DAC+Amp

Quote: I second the Burson from my experience.  It's my current setup.  One can argue that you don't need Burson to drive the Denon.  Probably true, but it sounds awesome.  Frankly, I prefer my headphone setup better than my B&W system.

    FLAC vs. 320 Mp3

Quote: I also used to have an expensive fancy CD player.  It DID reproduced the sound better.  Having said that, the difference was small enough for me to get rid of it when I downgraded my system to make more room.  My ears are not trained and I'm mostly based on how I "feel" the music...

Quote: Sure. Every DAC that I've listened to sounded all the same.

    FLAC vs. 320 Mp3

What I meant by downgrading my DAC was that with less precise DAC, I don't get to here as much detail, which often comes in the form of imperfection.  Yeah, it's still there, but it's masked, and it won't be as obvious.  Sort of like when I watch some bluray movies, I see skins of actors, not...

    FLAC vs. 320 Mp3

Quote: This is so true to me, too.  I actually, downgraded my DAC because too much detail got me more noise and imperfection from recordings.  If I have to choose between "true to original intention" and "something sounds awesome", I'll choose the later any day of the week because I listen...

    Denon AH-D7000

I enjoy D7000 more than my B&W system depending on the music.  The groove that I get out of my headphone setup is second to none.  I mostly listen to pop, rock, and occasional jazz.  Simply love the drum beat.

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote: I can't tell you anything about Grados.  In case of HD600, I wouldn't recommend it as it's strength is in high current, low impedance headphones.  It's pretty weak otherwise.

    Denon AH-D7000

Quote: LD1+ is a great match for D7000.  LD1+ is a hybrid where it's a half solid state & half tube with lots of current; much more so than LD III or IV, which are full tube amps.  It sounds pretty good and compares decently to my Burson (of course, not the same, though).  For D7000, LD1+...

List of DACs that work with iPad

Quote: I'm no Larry, but with my experience for iPad 3 with 5.1, the battery life is excellent.  I've listened to music for 2 hours and it went from 100%->99%, for example.  Since we have to use USB Hub, there isn't much power drawn from iPad.

You need a hub to supply power to DACPort.

I'm happy to report that iPad 3rd gen works perfectly with DACPort. I'd like to believe it sounds better than iPad 1, but there is no way to compare. :)

Quote: Yup. I have FLAC player, but I want native support like you said.
