Schiit Modi vs Fubar II
I've had a Fubar II for years, and replaced the stock opamps with AD797. It sounds good to me, but I was wondering if there was anything better I could get for relatively cheap. I've heard great things about the Schiit Modi, but considering its price I wasn't sure if it would be a real upgrade...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
Awesome, I think I'll try that out then. What sort of improvements would I see in upgrading the power supply?- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
Interesting, I thought it was pretty widely accepted that the OPA627/637 were the best in terms of opamp quality. Is the 602B new? Because I haven't heard of that one, but I'd certainly be willing to try something else. Also, does the Supplier really make that much of a difference? I figured...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
I currently have a Fubar II with OPA627s in place of the stock op-amps that I'm using with a Little Dot Mk V amp and DT 990s. I love the setup, but I have a feeling that I could be getting more out of it. I definitely want to stick with the Little Dot, but I'd like to know what else is out there...- Chris Tch

Anodizing Little Dot MK V faceplate
Hm, that's a good idea. I'll look around for places. If I can't find any locally, though, does anyone know of a place online that'll make custom faceplates?- Chris Tch

Anodizing Little Dot MK V faceplate
I have the MK V amp with the stock brushed aluminum faceplate. I'd like it anodized to black. Do any of you know a way to blacken already-anodized aluminum, and if not, are there any good/cheap online places that I can send it to to get refinished? I would really like an oil-rubbed bronze...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
Too much money. I'd like to spend around $250, definitely not $300+. It does look nice, though.- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
I got the Brown Dog adapter at Cimarron Technologies. I bought the two 627s on eBay before I remembered Cimarron sold them pre-mounted. Oh well. Have you tried the Fubar connected to a different amp/receiver?- Chris Tch

Yeah, as soon as I get the chips I'll tell you how it sounds. What equipment are you using that's causing the ground loop issue?- Chris Tch

I'll look into it. Seems the Fubar is a better value than I thought. Think the Supplier would make much of a difference?- Chris Tch

I just got some OPA627s and a Brown Dog adapter. I guess I'll wait a while to try something a lot more expensive.- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
Oh, wow. Well, as long as he was being truthful, I guess. Do you think it has equal/better highs than the Fubar? I certainly wouldn't want to downgrade that part. I also replaced the stock OPA2604 opamps to the OPA2107. I thought it added a little bit of warmth and bass.- Chris Tch
