Schiit Modi vs Fubar II
I've had a Fubar II for years, and replaced the stock opamps with AD797. It sounds good to me, but I was wondering if there was anything better I could get for relatively cheap. I've heard great things about the Schiit Modi, but considering its price I wasn't sure if it would be a real upgrade...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
Awesome, I think I'll try that out then. What sort of improvements would I see in upgrading the power supply?- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
Interesting, I thought it was pretty widely accepted that the OPA627/637 were the best in terms of opamp quality. Is the 602B new? Because I haven't heard of that one, but I'd certainly be willing to try something else. Also, does the Supplier really make that much of a difference? I figured...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II
I currently have a Fubar II with OPA627s in place of the stock op-amps that I'm using with a Little Dot Mk V amp and DT 990s. I love the setup, but I have a feeling that I could be getting more out of it. I definitely want to stick with the Little Dot, but I'd like to know what else is out there...- Chris Tch

Anodizing Little Dot MK V faceplate
Hm, that's a good idea. I'll look around for places. If I can't find any locally, though, does anyone know of a place online that'll make custom faceplates?- Chris Tch

Anodizing Little Dot MK V faceplate
I have the MK V amp with the stock brushed aluminum faceplate. I'd like it anodized to black. Do any of you know a way to blacken already-anodized aluminum, and if not, are there any good/cheap online places that I can send it to to get refinished? I would really like an oil-rubbed bronze...- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
Too much money. I'd like to spend around $250, definitely not $300+. It does look nice, though.- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
I got the Brown Dog adapter at Cimarron Technologies. I bought the two 627s on eBay before I remembered Cimarron sold them pre-mounted. Oh well. Have you tried the Fubar connected to a different amp/receiver?- Chris Tch

Yeah, as soon as I get the chips I'll tell you how it sounds. What equipment are you using that's causing the ground loop issue?- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
I'll look into it. Seems the Fubar is a better value than I thought. Think the Supplier would make much of a difference?- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
I just got some OPA627s and a Brown Dog adapter. I guess I'll wait a while to try something a lot more expensive.- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
Oh, wow. Well, as long as he was being truthful, I guess. Do you think it has equal/better highs than the Fubar? I certainly wouldn't want to downgrade that part. I also replaced the stock OPA2604 opamps to the OPA2107. I thought it added a little bit of warmth and bass.- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
Yeah, a lot of those I'm interested in as well. What do you mean by "controversy" over the Beresford? Is there something wrong with some of them, or..?- Chris Tch

Upgrade from Fubar II - $250-ish
I've had the Fubar II for over a year, and I just got a Little Dot MKV amp. It sounds great with my Denon D2000, but I'm wondering if there's a better DAC out there for $250 or less that would be a significant improvement. I don't really have any problems with the Fubar, I'd just like to...- Chris Tch

EAC Foobar ASIO4ALL WASAPI Settings Pictorial
I use Windows 7 beta. I know the Foobar volume works, but the Windows volume itself works. I've found that if I disable the DAC in the sound menu, it still plays, but is no longer accessible by Windows. I think I'll keep it that way.- Chris Tch

EAC Foobar ASIO4ALL WASAPI Settings Pictorial
No no, I don't want to use the volume control. I'm just wondering if simply the fact that I can control the volume means that it isn't bitperfect. It seems like something would have to be interfering in order to let me adjust the volume. I leave it at 100% all the time.- Chris Tch

EAC Foobar ASIO4ALL WASAPI Settings Pictorial
I have a question. I have Foobar/ASIO4All and I am able to control the output volume to my DAC with the volume buttons. Is this bad? I thought bitperfect output wouldn't be affected by this.- Chris Tch

Little Dot Mk V - question
Hi, I have the Denon D2000 and have been searching Head-Fi for a good amp in the $250-300 range and came across the Little Dot Mk V many times. I have read that it has hissing problems with low-impedance headphones. However, I could buy a resistance adapter for it. Do you think this amp would...- Chris Tch

AHD2000 correct fit
No, they just need to be centered on your ears. If you feel the tops hanging on the top of your ear, they're too low. I wear mine unextended since I don't have a big head.- Chris Tch

Looking for beefy amp for Denon D2000
Well, my only issue with home amps is that I might not be able to put it in my backpack. If the casing isn't overly huge, like some are, I don't care if it's portable or not. The 120-pound-ish Novo kit seems pretty decent; do you think this would give me the sort of power I'm looking for?- Chris Tch

JVC HAR-X700 and 900. Two of the best dynamics? Am I nuts?
I just ordered the HAR-X700. $45 with delivery on Tuesday. Am I correct in thinking that this model is better than the X900? If so, do you think I'll be happy with them? I'm currently using a Denon D2000 that I love. I'm pretty excited about hearing these, especially since they're so cheap.- Chris Tch
