1000+ Head-Fier
Pros: The Kiwi Ears Singolo try to carve a distinctive niche for themselves among so many similar IEMS.
- Voluminous and powerful bass, thanks to the good innovation of the KARS.
- Soft but well extended and natural treble.
- Pleasant and musical tuning from the midrange onwards.
- Very good comfort and ergonomics.
- They arouse a mixed feeling, sometimes they seem quite good, sometimes not so good.
Cons: They need some break-in, power and volume to "wake up" the midrange and high frequencies.
- Technically average.
- Sound somewhat compressed in layers.
- Specialised profile, not for all tastes.
- Very sparing in accessories for the price.

Great review! As someone who is dependent on closed-backs for virtually all my headphone listening, your conclusion really resonates with me (“If I needed sound isolation…”).

In addition, it’s reassuring (though not surprising) that owning a pair of ZMF Verité Closed, Atrium Closed, and Caldera Closed will be a wonderful and diverse trio of options for all musical genres.

Thanks for the great insights!

Spot on in this review, it is special for its price

SemperMalum

100+ Head-Fier
Pros: Overall package (accessories & looks) is a home run
Warm bass that does not bleed over
Buttery smooth mids
Non-fatiguing but not boring treble/highs
Size of the IEM makes it more accessible to different shaped ears
Cons: Needs some power to make them shine
Price point is fair (considering everything you're getting) but does put it in a higher tier bracket vs some of the competition
Squigs have reflected some channel imbalance (was not noticeable on my unit but YMMV)
TL;DR: Buttery smooth - a new easy to recommend IEM for starters (that can afford to drop the extra $)

I'm tempted to get these because they look amazing! But I wonder WHY did they go back to using the recessed 2-pin vs the newer style raised connection that all the new KZs use, AND their own Wan'er SG use?! Seems like a step backward.
SemperMalum

Thankfully, it's not that recessed in this case (they work well with my other cables) but yeah, it's definitely not that same style.

sorry I meant flush-mounted port vs the newer raised ports that all the new KZs use among other brands.

I own the Pheonixcall as well and bought it with my hard earned cash. When I first listened to it, the bass and Highs sounded great. The highs are very airy, sparking and detailed, the bass tight, but the mids? Too recessed for my liking, and a tad thin. Still a good buy for those who aren’t into vocals, my son, loves the highs and claims the best he has ever heard. But he doesn’t like the rest.

Nice review, enjoying you reviews, not every IEM earns a 4 to 5 star review, exactly like it should be. Keep your honestly going in them.
