I am looking to get a DAC/Amp to power a pair of 770/80s and occasionally my Westone UM2s. I don't really need a portable setup as this will normally be running on my desk out of my PC, but I also have a Macbook and portability might be a plus. My spending limit is ~$200.

I guess my real question is: does the Zero provide a significant improvement over the D2, and can such an improvement be compensated by rolling Opamps? I would get the D2 for portability sake unless the Zero had a lot more to offer, in which case I could just get a cheap portable amp for travel if I need one.

*Oh, and if anyone has a used one they are looking to unload let me know as I can't post in the FS forum with so few posts.

The Zero doesn't have USB compatibility, just for starters, but you have a macbook which has optical. I would get a desktop amp over a portable amp any day. The price you pay for a portable is exactly for that, portability. If you need more information just PM me.
