My favourite CD of 2001 was the Scorpions "Acoustica." It's an unplugged, live recording of the legendary German heavy rock band, and it's done gorgeously. There's some songs that make your heart melt, like the rendition of Kansas' "Dust in the Wind" and The Cars' "Drive."
Klaus Meine's vocals are unbelievable on this recording. Just to think that in 1982, his vocal chords started to give out, but the rest of the band stuck with him and, after an operation, his vocal chords seemed to be made of metal!
Sure, these guys are close to their mid-50's, but they're planning a 30th year anniversary tour, so I read.
