I'm working on yet another x-can V2 and am fitting it out with Panasonic FC's, ELNA's and Mullard 1970's gold pin Valves (tubes)
The Mullards aren't due to arrive until next week but this baby sounds superb with just the caps fitted.
I think I've got the ideal recipe for the caps and will shortly post my findings to http://freespace.virgin.net/rock.grotto/index2.htm
Further to previous experiments, the Panasonic FC series are the capacitor that make the X-Can sing and the 2 x 470uf 35 V replaced by dubilier caps really do make the midrange "ethereal" and so so detailed.
I'll report on this fully once I fit the Mullard gold pins but, at the moment, I'm in heaven with this superb sound quality......... I regret selling my X-Can V2........ I honestly mean that.
Pinkie.
