I just installed a new Xonar Essense STX soundcard (Asus) and have been pleased with the sound quality.
I next want to digitize some of my lp's and noticed that the input to the soundcard is a microphone line in?
Does this mean I do not have stereo input?

Also - I would have to construct or buy an stereo RCA ---> TRS in order to make the connection (assuming the microphone in is stereo).

Has anyone done this?

Thanks,

The input can function as either a microphone or a line-in, and it is stereo. When used as a line input, it has fairly good quality, but note that it is not very sensitive (the full scale input voltage is 2 Vrms), and the input impedance is relatively low. With a pre-amplifier, this is probably not an issue, though.

Thanks ! I also just noticed the TRS 1/4 inch adapter and it's stereo.
I'm looking forward to how well this card will digitize an analog LP into Hi-Resolution digital (24bit/96khz).
