How do you make a un-balanced unit balanced?

Usually, sell it and buy something that comes with balanced inputs or outputs. Seriously, to make those changes it generally requires some serious reworking to make sure that everything is balanced. I'll see if I can find anything on this tomorrow elsewhere on the web. Must be someone out there who knows more specifically!!
