After lurking for some buying advice I decided to dip my toe in at the cheap end and get an X2. As far as sound quality I'm glad I did. But I've been dogged by a loud glitch on some files which eventually leads to a File Format Error. I call it a "kiss glitch because it sounds like when you purse your lips and pull in air to make the sound of a kiss. The problem is not universal but happens on MP3 320 (downloads from Amazon store) but also on a Flac album. Card is Fat32 and firmware update from 6.0 to 7.0 hasn't helped. Also swapped out headphones. Problem doesn't happen when the files are played on any other device
Have I got a dud or could there be another explanation.?
Appreciate any advice.

Often these types of sound glitches, especially when you get a file format error are due to having incompatible tags. What format are your tags in? I don't know about Xduoo players specifically, however my Sandisk and Fiio players seem to work fine if I remove all tags except the ID3V2.3 ISO 8859-1 tags from the mp3 files, as well as removing embedded album art(my album art is in a folder.jpg file within the folder that contains the album), and having the comments and album artist tags blank. Having tags for items that a player doesn't support, such as album artist for example, might give the player problems. Does Xduoo give details about what format tags should be in, and which tags that are not supported need to be deleted for the player to function properly? The free program mp3Tag makes it easy to edit many tags at once.

OK. First up.. thanks for the help. Played with tags in MP3Tag to no avail then tried some other avenues. One of the problems was an old rip of NWA (320kbps) I found in a drawer.so I bought the album from Amazon and downloaded the backup (320) - same issue, glitches getting heavier until an eventual "format error".  So the CD arrived and I ripped a 320 mp3 and 16 bit Flac and the same issue persists. Is it possible there is DRM encoding on the master CD to prevent ripping ?
It's the strangest thing.
