Is anyone familiar with the xbox's audio output quality.

I find it pretty musical with MP3's... It's cd drive is bad tough.

Thank god for TOSlink. I've never heard it's analog out.

I always imagined it like Waffle's description though.

I have the analog going to my receiver, and it sounds pretty bad.

I used my 360 as a transport & the music is muffled, less dynamic, & distance compared to my Zenith 318 & S7700..

The drive mechanism is probably fantastic, as it is designed to be horizontal OR vertical. But the internals .....my guess is X does NOT mark the spot.
