Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Zotac Atom and Ion based motherboard, and am looking on turning it in to a dedicated HTPC/music player. I very much like the idea of an installed XBMC live distribution, but I was wondering if it would be possible to add a different/better audio player to XBMC? If so, what should I be looking at installing?

Thanks for the help!

If you are a little bit more advanced you can skip out on XBMC and start from a clean minimal linux installation.  Setup alsa properly, and load in your own music and video software.

You can also perform other various tweaks... like setting up real time processor schedueling to dedicate full processing to media task.
